What is your advice for first time homebuyers?
Purchasing your first home is a wonderful and exciting experience, but
it’s definitely important to work with the right mortgage professional
who can explain the sometimes confusing and overwhelming aspects
of home loans. First time buyers are new to the process and need a lot
of guidance and education, so finding a lender who is patient and can
provide a lot of insight is key.
In terms of investment properties and second residences, is there
anything RPM does differently than other lenders?
As local residents ourselves, we understand the current market in our
communities we serve, and have relationships with local realtors to find
the perfect fit for any purchase. Our variety of products range from various
cash out options, reduced seasoning for previous short sales/foreclosures,
low credit score requirements and interest only options. We have
so many options for clients to choose from to help find the right match for
each individual.
What would you recommend for a client looking to refinance or gain
access to their home equity?
If a client is looking to access some of their home equity for a home improvement
or perhaps pay for their child’s college tuition, a cash out refinance
may be a good option. We also have a fixed-rate second mortgage
program which is similar to a home equity line or HELOC, but with a fixed
payment over the loan term, which means their payment won’t adjust.
Plus the best part is the client doesn’t have to adjust their payment or
refinance their first mortgage.
