Why choose our program for your child?<br />

Prospective parents often ask, “What makes for a great pre-school?” Here at the JCC,<br />

we offer your child consistent opportunities for exploration, learning <strong>and</strong> discovery,<br />

starting from infancy all the way through to pre-k. We underst<strong>and</strong> the importance of<br />

establishing a rapport between caregiver <strong>and</strong> parents. Therefore, we encourage parent<br />

Registration continues for the Early<br />

Childhood Development Program (ECDP)<br />

<strong>2017</strong>-2018 school year. Enrollment has been<br />

moving very quickly <strong>and</strong> some classrooms<br />

are already full. The JCC of Syracuse<br />

<strong>2017</strong>–2018 school year scholarship<br />

application deadline is July 17, <strong>2017</strong>.<br />

Scholarships are based on income. For<br />

more information about our program <strong>and</strong><br />

to schedule a tour, please contact Pam<br />

tEACHER APPRECiAtion dinnER<br />

Many thanks to everyone who donated to<br />

help purchase Target gift cards which were<br />

presented to all teaching staff during the<br />

Teacher Appreciation Dinner on May 4.<br />

We appreciate your generosity in helping<br />

us make this a successful event!<br />

PAREnt tEACHER ConFEREnCES<br />

Parent teacher conferences will be held<br />

May 8–19. We hope that this second<br />

meeting will provide a fascinating <strong>and</strong><br />

fresh look at your child’s growth <strong>and</strong><br />

development through the eyes of another<br />

<strong>Summer</strong> Camp<br />

<strong>Summer</strong> is a time for fun in<br />

the sun <strong>and</strong> swimming!<br />

Camp sneak preview<br />

ECDP preschoolers will<br />

soon be able to experience the fun <strong>and</strong><br />

excitement of summer camp during the<br />

school year! May 30 – June 2 is camp sneak<br />

preview week during regular morning<br />

preschool hours. The children will enjoy a<br />

variety of summer camp related arts <strong>and</strong><br />

caring adult—your child’s teacher.<br />

Parents attending the conferences will<br />

receive a copy of their child’s individual<br />

development <strong>and</strong> learning report. If you<br />

are unable to attend, please cancel in<br />

advance by calling 315-445-2040, ext. 120.<br />

AnnUAL BASKEt RAFFLE<br />

We’re gearing up for one of our biggest<br />

<strong>and</strong> most fun fundraising events of the<br />

year! Each classroom will be creating a<br />

special themed basket to be raffled off.<br />

We ask that each family please bring in an<br />

item or two by Friday, June 2 to help fill<br />

their basket. The completed baskets will<br />

be displayed near the front office. Raffle<br />

tickets will be sold from Monday, June 5<br />

through Monday, June 19. Your help in<br />

selling tickets to friends <strong>and</strong> family is<br />

much appreciated! Tickets cost 1 for $1,<br />

6 for $5, 13 for $10 or 30 for $20. The<br />

winners will be drawn on Tuesday, June 20.<br />

You do not need to be present to win.<br />

End-oF-yEAR CELEBRAtionS<br />

We will celebrate the end of the 2016-<strong>2017</strong><br />

school year with the children putting<br />

on some special performances. Parents<br />

crafts projects, games, outdoor activities <strong>and</strong><br />

special treats.<br />

Registration<br />

Our summer camp program runs weekly<br />

(monthly for infants) from June 26 through<br />

August 18. A variety of flexible weekly<br />

enrollment options are available.<br />

of children in classrooms 4 <strong>and</strong> 5 are<br />

invited to join us on June 9 for “Songs <strong>and</strong><br />

Sundaes.” During this very special circle<br />

time, parents can join their children in<br />

singing some of the songs we learned this<br />

year, <strong>and</strong> enjoy an ice cream treat together.<br />

On June 14 the children in classrooms 6,<br />

7 <strong>and</strong> 8 will participate in their “Moving<br />

Up Morning” celebration as they perform<br />

some special songs. The children in rooms<br />

A, B <strong>and</strong> 2 will take center stage on June<br />

19, performing for family <strong>and</strong> friends<br />

during the Annual Pre-K Graduation<br />

Ceremony. After the graduates receive<br />

their diplomas, families are invited to<br />

celebrate this special day with a pre-k<br />

picnic. Invitations will be sent in June.<br />
