8vo, wrappers. Cover with letterpress typographic design and
15 page letterpress text including typographic designs. Terentev
was a member of the Tiflis 41 Degree triumvirate of radical
typographers. The Treatise
is an essay on literature
and culture employing
experiments in layouts
and typography. For
example, some letters lie
on their sides in a mixture
of Roman and Cyrillic
alphabets; capitalization
conveys stress or
emphasis; typographically
emphasized parts identify
with “taboo” words, and
zigzag and zoom effects
appear.
Terent’ev develops a new theology founded on God’s “fourth

large 8vo, printed and decorated wrappers. Fine; uncut and
unopened. Manual on a method of typographic composition
called “Croquis-Calque”, which was George Auriol’s twentystep
method for transferring hand drawings onto engraved and
printed plates, with 583 pages and Index.
Auriol was called the “French innovator of typographic
writing”; his types are used throughout. Hundreds of text
illustrations and full page plates, some on heavy card stock,
many tipped in and some in color, showing title pages, covers,
advertisements, a sweet birth announcement for Auriol’s son,

circa 1925-1930. Folio, original spiral -bound stiff wrappers. In
perfect condition; tissue guards. Twenty large and spectacular
silk screen illustrations of stylized birds in various color

ironwork for house and stable, ornate street lights, and hitching
