Young Performer Award - Looks to<br />

recognise the achievement of a student who<br />

has excelled within the world of performing<br />

arts in either drama, music or dance.<br />

Contribution to school life award<br />

- Looks to recognise pupils who take on<br />

extra responsibilities and plays an active<br />

part in the school.<br />

Achieving Through Adversity Award - Recognises pupils who have<br />

accomplished remarkable things, displaying qualities such as courage, ambition<br />

and determination when having to overcome significant obstacles. (Only open to<br />

nomination from special schools, or those schools with a special needs element).<br />

Magna Carta Judges Award - The Magna Carta judges award will be presented<br />

to one student who judges feel goes above and beyond whether that be at school<br />

or in a social environment. You may feel they should be nominated across multiple<br />

categories, or they are someone who constantly excels and deserves some<br />

recognition. If you know a student who deserves some praise and they don’t fit<br />

one of the categories then please enter them into the Judges Award.<br />

Teaching Assistant of the Year <strong>2016</strong> - This award will go to the teaching<br />

assistant who raises the aspirations of pupils and helps them reach new<br />

heights. They will actively engage with others in supporting pupils’ learning and<br />

development, including teachers, parents and other professionals (Open for<br />

teachers/and or students to nominate)<br />

Teacher of the Year <strong>2016</strong> - This award will recognise a teacher who inspires and<br />

engages students to fulfil their potential and makes an exceptional contribution to<br />

the life of their school. (Open for teachers/and or students to nominate)<br />

Student of the Year <strong>2016</strong>* - The student of the year will be selected from all of<br />

the category winners and will be chosen by the judges. (Not open for nominations)<br />

Secondary School Categories<br />

Literacy Award - Looks to recognise<br />

achievement in literature with students<br />

demonstrating exciting and compelling ways<br />

within their writing.<br />

Arts Award - Looks to not only recognise<br />

achievement in art, but also in leadership,<br />

courage, determination and an ability to match<br />

effort in arts with effort in the classroom.<br />
