recognise achievement and enjoyment
shown within sports and games.
Writing Award - Looks to recognise
achievements and development of a
pupil’s writing capabilities.
Crafts & Creativity Award - Looks to
recognise achievements and enjoyment
shown within arts and crafts. (Please

Young Performer Award - Looks to
recognise the achievement of a student who
has excelled within the world of performing
arts in either drama, music or dance.
Contribution to school life award
- Looks to recognise pupils who take on
extra responsibilities and plays an active
part in the school.
Achieving Through Adversity Award - Recognises pupils who have
accomplished remarkable things, displaying qualities such as courage, ambition
and determination when having to overcome significant obstacles. (Only open to
nomination from special schools, or those schools with a special needs element).
Magna Carta Judges Award - The Magna Carta judges award will be presented
to one student who judges feel goes above and beyond whether that be at school
or in a social environment. You may feel they should be nominated across multiple
categories, or they are someone who constantly excels and deserves some
recognition. If you know a student who deserves some praise and they don’t fit
one of the categories then please enter them into the Judges Award.
Teaching Assistant of the Year 2016 - This award will go to the teaching
assistant who raises the aspirations of pupils and helps them reach new
heights. They will actively engage with others in supporting pupils’ learning and
development, including teachers, parents and other professionals (Open for
teachers/and or students to nominate)
Teacher of the Year 2016 - This award will recognise a teacher who inspires and
engages students to fulfil their potential and makes an exceptional contribution to
the life of their school. (Open for teachers/and or students to nominate)
Student of the Year 2016* - The student of the year will be selected from all of
the category winners and will be chosen by the judges. (Not open for nominations)
Secondary School Categories
Literacy Award - Looks to recognise
achievement in literature with students
demonstrating exciting and compelling ways
within their writing.
Arts Award - Looks to not only recognise
achievement in art, but also in leadership,
courage, determination and an ability to match
effort in arts with effort in the classroom.
