GLASS<strong>BORO</strong> PROGRESS<br />
After 59 years, the remains of Glassboro’s Ellis Manor, a long abandoned affordable housing project will be<br />
demolished. The site was composed of 60 family units and 16 senior units and was long known for its high<br />
occurrence of police activity and as an unsafe place to live or visit. On May 11, <strong>2017</strong>, after recent asbestos<br />
remediation,<br />

Glassboro’s Housing Authority (GHA) demolished the public housing development, with plans to<br />
replace the structures with the Lincoln Boulevard Project, an affordable senior housing community combined with<br />
apartments for developmentally disabled community members.<br />
Future residents will have multiple opportunities to enrich their lives socially and holistically in the newly built<br />
community and in Glassboro.<br />

In order to fully revitalize this integral section of Glassboro, Pennrose and the GHA, with the tremendous support<br />
of the Borough of Glassboro, have partnered to redevelop this 10-acre site with over 120 high-quality, affordable<br />
units age-restricted for individuals and families ages 55+. The site will be redeveloped in two phases with each<br />
phase comprising a portion of a four-story, three-wing building. The first phase, which will comprise the majority<br />
of the building, will contain 65 units with 57 one-bedroom and eight two-bedroom units. All of the units in each<br />
phase will be affordable to residents at or below 60% of Area Median Income (“AMI”). Seventeen (17) of the 65<br />
units will be set-aside for individuals with developmental disabilities.<br />

This project compliments the Boro’s over $425M project on the famed Rowan Boulevard and is helping to<br />
continue the tradition of being a prosperous community for it’s residents. The Lincoln Boulevard revitalization<br />
will act as a catalyst helping provide quality affordable housing to members of the local community. When<br />
completed, the new development be professionally managed by Pennrose Management Company. If Pennrose is<br />
successful in receiving state tax credits, the first phase of Lincoln Boulevard is scheduled to begin construction in<br />
Spring 2018.<br />
