NUMBERS

Thursday, June 1st
Read - Numbers 1:1-4, 44-46
Sometimes when I am given an assignment, task, or project: (choose one)
Numbers 1:1
I feel overwhelmed. I complain and put off doing it.
I follow the plan and work together with others to get it accomplished.
I get started, but then have a hard time following through with it.
God does not speak to me in the same way that He spoke to Moses. Today He speaks through His Word and the Holy
Spirit. What is one thing that He has shown me that I need to work on?
Honestly, I don’t know what He would want me to work on.
God has given me teachers to help me learn and grow. One assignment or project I have right now is:
I don’t have a current project, but one that is ahead is:
Numbers 1:2-4
What a huge task! Draw a star next to the strategy that can help me complete a current project or assignment well.
Break it down into simpler steps (vs.2)
Have a project leader. Cooperate rather than argue. (vs.3)
Work with a team of people. (vs.4)
Numbers 1:44-45
At times I wonder, “Why do I have to do this?” Yes No
The things I faithfully complete now prepare me for future challenges.
If I don’t know what is ahead , I decide it is pointless and don’t do it.
God keeps
His promises
to me, so I
commit to
keep mine to
Him.
Numbers 1:46
Write down the number recorded here.
God has different plans for different people. A responsibility or opportunity I have been given that others have not is:
When I know
God’s plan or
instructions for
me to follow, my
best choice is to
obey.
A responsibility or opportunity that a friend or family member has been given that I have not
is:
At times I am anxious or fearful about a situation in my life
I have refused to try something new because of fear
Occasionally, my fears are paralyzing - I just feel frozen
Numbers 13:26-29
The following is most true of myself (Underline)
I tend to focus on the promises of God and what He has done for me
I tend to focus on the obstacles I face and how overwhelming they seem
I flip flop back and forth, at times full of fear and at times full of faith
Numbers 13:30
One person who is an encouragement to me when I face fearful situations is:
One person I notice may need some encouragement from me to do a hard, fearful thing is
I will call, text, or write that person today to purposefully encourage
I will talk to that person face to face at my next opportunity
Numbers 13:31-33
One task or problem I am facing that seems too bug for me to handle is:
"Fear not, for I
am with you; be
not dismayed, for
I am your God." -
Check out Isaiah 41:10. Who can give strength and help I need?
Instead of dealing with this on my own, I will pray about it.
I'll talk to my encouraging person listed above to help figure out how best to tackle this.
Read - Numbers 14:20-33
• It is like a tug of war inside of me. The struggle is real. I want to trust God and live for Him, but then my own spirit pulls
back the other way, wanting control. One of my struggles is:
Numbers 14:20
Numbers 14:21-23
• There are consequences for repeatedly choosing my selfishness over God's control. One
Sunday, June 18th
Read - Numbers 14:34-45
• "Let me do it," is an attitude that starts early - first said when we're little kids. Often, it's said because we want to do
things our own way, at our own time. When little, results look like an upside down bowl of spaghetti on the floor. As
we get older, consequences become more drastic.
"When the will of man acts
in accord with the will of
God that is faith. When it
acts in opposition to the
will of God that is
unbelief." - Elizabeth Elliot
Numbers 14:34-35
•When I turn against God, acting against Him, there are consequences.
I have seen a friend or family member act deliberately against God's
I have been that person, acting out against God
A group of people I know or with whom I have been involved can be
described this way
Numbers 14:36-38
•One consequence I have observed or experienced for turning against God is:
• A time I or another person was kept safe from negative consequences because of doing things God's way was:
Numbers 14:39
• When I face negative consequences for doing things my way instead of God's , it makes me feel
• Do I feel that way because I don't like the consequence, or am I repenting (turning away) from my wrong attitudes?
Numbers 14:40-45
Sometimes I just don't like the consequence and really won't change
I am usually truly sorry for my actions and attitudes. I make a change
It is a struggle. Sometimes I want to change and other times I don't
• At first glance this looks like obedience, but it really isn't. God changed the direction He wanted the Israelites to go
Monday, June 19th
Read - Numbers 15:22-36
• Motives make a difference. I have said, "Oops! It was an accident, I'm sorry." I have to admit though, that I have
purposefully, defiantly acted against a friend, family member, or God.
Numbers 15:22-26
• There are times we just don't know the rules. We are not aware of the instructions. I have been a
part of a group that accidentally broke the rules without realizing it.
• What does God say He will do for me when I follow through with that?
• If God Himself forgave me, do I have to live in guilt? Yes No
• One sin trap that I know is wrong, but keep slipping up and falling back into is:
Numbers 15:30-31
I will get help from a more mature Christian who can check up on me
I will pray now and ask for someone who I can seek out for help
• This is completely different and more dangerous than what was described in the earlier part of today's quiet time.
Numbers 15:32-36
I have seen someone who defiantly refuses to give up doing wrong even when it is pointed out
Sadly, there is an area of my life in which this describes me
no big deal
serious. There are consequences

I can usually remember or find something from God's Word to help me with my problem
I don't know how to find that in the Bible. I will ask someone I trust to help me
Sunday, June 25th
Read - Numbers 27:12-23
• There's no magic wand to make someone a leader. It does not happen instantly. Instead, it takes time and effort to
develop the qualities of a leader. Why bother? Because everybody leads somebody.
Numbers 27:12-14
• A leader who I look up to and count on is:
Read - Numbers 32:1-15
• There are all kinds of exciting opportunities and activities in which I can be involved. When I have a chance to do
Read - Numbers 35:9-25
• Have I heard someone say, "It's a matter of life and death"? This phrase is primarily used to show the importance of
a matter. My choices and actions may not all be life and death, but some could get pretty close.
Numbers 35:9-13
• The cities of refuge were to be part of the justice system of Israel provided by God. One way God has provided
refuge and safety for me is:
• We do not have cities of refuge today, but God still has a plan to deal with the life and death matter of sin.
I have accepted God's plan to deal with my sin: admitting I am a sinner, believing in what Christ has
done to pay for my sin, and calling on God for removal of judgement for my sin.
I am not sure I understand God's plan about this. I will talk to someone about it
I haven't accepted God's plan to deal with my sin but will do that now
