Sunday, June 11th Read - Numbers 11:4-17 Numbers 11:4-6 • At times I look around me or think about the past, and feel as if I am missing out. Agree Disagree • Some situations are not ideal. I respond to those areas in my life by: Numbers 11:7-9 Having a bad attitude Complaining Taking my frustrations out on someone else Trying to find something for which to be thankful Working hard to make the best of the situation • Have I "turned up my nose" at what God or another person has done for me? Yes Numbers 11:10 No • A bad attitude or complaining spirit is noticeable, as well as a thankful heart or good attitude. Has someone responded to one of these in me? Yes No • Which was it? • Is there some way I need to make things right with them? Yes, I will do that today or the next time available There's nothing I can think of "Look for opportunities today to give thanks when your default would be to murmur or complain." - Nancy Leigh DeMoss Numbers 11:11-15 • Trying to deal with negative people can be stressful. It can be overwhelming. As I look at Moses' example, I see the best place to take that kind of stress is to Numbers 11:16-17 • No one has to do it all alone. Who are some wise people I can go to with overwhelming issues? I will go talk to them today about something overwhelming in my life I will keep them in mind foe when I face that kind of issue. • Who is one person I will stand alongside as they face heavy burdens?
Monday, June 12th Read - Numbers 11:18-25; 31-33 • There are people around me who just seem to care about this instant and their own enjoyment. As I consider myself, my "right now" desires and wants often fill my thoughts, impact my attitudes and motivate my prayers. Numbers 11:18-20 Not often 1 2 3 4 5 Most of the time • At times, there is something I really want right away. Later, I realize: That is really not what is best for me God had something better for me if I would have waited That is what I thought I wanted, but now I don't want that "True humility is not thinking less of yourself; it is thinking of yourself less." - C.S. Lewis Other things are so much more important. It does not matter anymore •One thing I want right now is: •I will choose to: Patiently wait on God's timing and His best for me Think through whether this desire lines up with God's desires for me Consider whether this could be harmful to someone else Numbers 11:21-23 • Some problems seem massive and overwhelming. One problem I am facing right now is: • What does Job 42:1-2 say about God's ability to solve problems? • God can do anything/nothing (circle one) • Will His plans and purposes be hijacked or left incomplete according to theses verses? Yes No Numbers 11:24-25 I just prayed about my problem now • Yesterday I was asked to seek out some wise people who can help me with hard problems I face. Have I done that yet? Yes No Numbers 11:31-33 • At times God allows me to have what I want even though mu motivation is wrong. (Circle what motivated the people in these verses)
