Saturday, June 17th Read - Numbers 14:20-33 • It is like a tug of war inside of me. The struggle is real. I want to trust God and live for Him, but then my own spirit pulls back the other way, wanting control. One of my struggles is: Numbers 14:20 • God forgives when I truly seek His pardon. Yes No Numbers 14:21-23 • There are consequences for repeatedly choosing my selfishness over God's control. One consequence I have seen in my life or someone else's is: Numbers 14:24 • Wow! What an example Caleb was. He fully followed the Lord. If I would ask my friends, does my attitude and spirit reflect a person wholeheartedly following the Lord? Yes No Sometimes I don't know • What do I need to change for that to be true of me? (If I don't know, I will ask a leader or wise friend). Write it here: " We are called to do more than believe in God; we're called to live in God." - Ann Voskamp Numbers 14:25 • Even when I mess up and try to take control, God still wants to give direction that will take me in the best way for me. One area God wants me to give Him that I have not been willing to turn over to Him is: • Take time to turn that over to Him now. • I will talk to Numbers 14:26-33 I prayed about this. I need a person who I can ask to check up on me to see how I am doing in this area. about doing that. • The consequences of the choices I make affect others. One person who has been affected by my choices is: . I will decide now to be more careful of the choices I make and try to make things right with that person. I have been affected by the sinful choices of a previous generation. I will choose to learn from this and make better choices than those I have observed.
Sunday, June 18th Read - Numbers 14:34-45 • "Let me do it," is an attitude that starts early - first said when we're little kids. Often, it's said because we want to do things our own way, at our own time. When little, results look like an upside down bowl of spaghetti on the floor. As we get older, consequences become more drastic. "When the will of man acts in accord with the will of God that is faith. When it acts in opposition to the will of God that is unbelief." - Elizabeth Elliot Numbers 14:34-35 •When I turn against God, acting against Him, there are consequences. desires I have seen a friend or family member act deliberately against God's I have been that person, acting out against God A group of people I know or with whom I have been involved can be described this way Numbers 14:36-38 •One consequence I have observed or experienced for turning against God is: • A time I or another person was kept safe from negative consequences because of doing things God's way was: Numbers 14:39 • When I face negative consequences for doing things my way instead of God's , it makes me feel • Do I feel that way because I don't like the consequence, or am I repenting (turning away) from my wrong attitudes? Numbers 14:40-45 Sometimes I just don't like the consequence and really won't change I am usually truly sorry for my actions and attitudes. I make a change It is a struggle. Sometimes I want to change and other times I don't • At first glance this looks like obedience, but it really isn't. God changed the direction He wanted the Israelites to go (vs.35). Have I stubbornly refused change, even after God was clear? Yes No • I can count on away from God.
