<strong>June</strong> 5 th -11 th - Wine & Food Week <strong>2017</strong> is an all-inclusive, multi-day,<br />
multi-faceted, culinary and wine extravaganza perfect for the beginner<br />
to the serious wine collector, drawing avid foodies and wine and craft<br />
beer enthusiasts from across the region to The Woodlands this <strong>June</strong>.<br />
Now in its 13 th year, Wine & Food Week, under the direction of Food &<br />
Vine Time Productions, will host 75 chefs, hundreds of talented winery<br />
representatives, scores of featured restaurants and thousands of patrons<br />
who eat, drink, taste, mingle, learn, indulge and give back, all while<br />
enjoying some of the best food and more than 500 wines from across the<br />

<strong>June</strong> 9 th - The City of Katy hosts Katy Summer Nights at Katy City Park<br />
beginning at 8 PM and usually runs till 11 PM, depending on the movie<br />
selection.<br />
<strong>June</strong> 10 th - Carnival Houston. Celebrating carnival from the Caribbean,<br />
Brazil and New Orleans Mardi Gras. It is an exciting an explosion of<br />
music, cuisine, revelry, costume parade and performances. The Premier<br />
Annual Carnival Houston show will showcase carnival costumes and<br />
performances such as Samba, Merengue, and costume masqueraders,<br />
Dance Performances, Calypso, Soca, Salsa and Samba. Join the party<br />
for a free street parade, costume festival, carnival rides, limbo contest,<br />

<strong>June</strong> 17 th -18 th - <strong>June</strong>teenth Fest at Emancipation Park. Houston’s<br />
official <strong>June</strong>teenth Emancipation Celebration at Emancipation Park<br />
- the site where <strong>June</strong>teenth Celebrations began! Emancipation Park’s<br />
historic <strong>June</strong>teenth Emancipation Celebration marks the anniversary of<br />
the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation and over 154 years since<br />
the slaves in Texas were informed of their freedom; the celebration in<br />
Emancipation Park (currently hosted by Friends of Emancipation Park)<br />
includes over 40 years of central Houston <strong>June</strong>teenth Parades! Directions<br />

<strong>June</strong> 18 th -25 th - Pride Houston Festival and Parade. More than 300,000<br />
people attend Pride Houston each year, making it the second largest<br />
parade in Houston and the largest Pride Parade or LGBT gathering in the<br />
Southwestern United States. The festival and parade are part of a week-long<br />
celebration. The festival is packed with a wide variety of exhibitors, artists,<br />
music of all kinds, performers, stages and fun. There really is something<br />
here for everyone. The celebration in the Montrose neighborhood focuses<br />
on showcasing music and entertainment from local LGBT artists and<br />

JULY <strong>2017</strong><br />
July 1st - Fulshear Farmers’ Market - The Farmers’ Market is every Saturday<br />
from 9 AM-1 PM at 1093 at Bois d’Arc Lane, Fulshear, TX 77441 and offers<br />
a vast array of produce and food products that were grown or produced<br />
within a 200 mile radius of Fulshear. The lineup includes seasonal<br />
vegetables and fruit, fresh seafood, Artisian breads, pastured Red Wattle<br />
pork, Dorper lamb, free range chicken, pies, cookies, pastas, granolas,<br />
dried fruit and nuts, Houston Chili Pepper Festival award-winning salsas,<br />
Wagyu Kobe beef, soaps, toiletries, BBQ sauces, pickles and canned goods,<br />
Indian food, heat and eat meals, locally roasted and blended coffees and<br />
more. You will always find a delicious food truck or two, as well.<br />
July 1st-29th - Bands on the Sand at Moody Gardens, 1 Hope Blvd.,<br />
Galveston, TX. Enjoy this summer concert series on Friday and<br />
Saturday nights from 6 to 10 PM featuring local and regional bands<br />
ranging from R&B, rock, country and blues. The cost is $15 for<br />
admission and each show concludes with a firework display over<br />
Offats Bayou overlooking the Moody Gardens pyramids. For more<br />

July 1st-29th - Tremont Jazz Series at The Tremont House, 2300 Mechanic<br />
St., Galveston, TX. Every Friday and Saturday, from 6 to 10 PM, enjoy live<br />
jazz by Trio du Jour in the hotel’s 1888 Toujouse Bar. The Tremont House<br />
launched its Jazz Series in late September 2013 and it has become hugely<br />
popular with locals and guests. Trio du Jour plays classic, acoustic jazz.<br />

July 4th - Freedom Over Texas - Celebrating 30 years of July 4th music,<br />
fireworks and fanfare on Buffalo Bayou, Houston’s signature patriotic<br />
event will turn it WAY up with live performances, family activities and<br />
stunning pyrotechnics Tuesday, July 4th from 4 PM-10 PM. For the first<br />
time in the event’s history, the celebration will kick off with a patriotic<br />
tribute by United States Air Force Band of the West. Grammy-nominated<br />
and CMA-winning artist, HUNTER HAYES will follow before multiplatinum<br />
selling, 2016 MTV Video Music Award-winning DNCE takes the<br />
stage. As is tradition, the evening will conclude with a spectacular blast<br />
of fireworks thanks to CITGO who has provided the finale since 2015. This<br />
year, CITGO signed on as a dual sponsor providing both the pyrotechnics<br />

July 4th - A Star Spangled Salute at the Miller Outdoor Theatre. Enjoy<br />
an evening with Principal Pops Conductor Michael Krajewski and the<br />
Houston Symphony listening to patriotic, toe-tapping American music.<br />
Make sure to stay until the end for the 1812 Overture - complete with<br />
booming cannons! This celebration concludes with a magnificent display<br />
of fireworks provided by Miller Theatre Advisory Board. This is a ticketed<br />
event for the covered seating area. Free tickets are available (4 per person<br />
over age 16 while they last) at the Miller Outdoor Theatre box office the<br />
day of the performance between the hours of 10:30 AM-1 PM. If tickets<br />
remain at 1 PM, the box office will re-open one hour before show time to<br />
distribute the remaining tickets. As always, open seating on the hill. For<br />

July 6th - First Thursday Concert Series in Conroe at Heritage Place, 500<br />
Metcalf Street, Conroe TX 77301. Invite your friends, bring the family to<br />
relax to a variety of bands in this concert series held every first Thursday<br />
in the months of April thru September. Get comfortable, bring your chairs<br />
and blankets. OUTSIDE ALCOHOL NOT PERMITTED. Beer and concessions<br />
available onsite. Water, soda and food may be brought in. From 6:30-7:30<br />
