shave part <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> head while leaving <strong>the</strong> rest is not permissible. May<br />

3. The command to grow <strong>the</strong> beard and trim <strong>the</strong> moustache has been<br />

recorded in <strong>the</strong> A#\d|th.<br />

4. It is Sunnah to trim <strong>the</strong> moustache as finely as possible. Keeping<br />

very long moustaches (that overhang <strong>the</strong> upper lip) has been<br />

declared as <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> practices <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Mushriks (poly<strong>the</strong>ists). al-Bukh\r|<br />

5. Hair below <strong>the</strong> navel, in <strong>the</strong> armpits, <strong>the</strong> moustache, as well as <strong>the</strong><br />

nails should be cut and kept clean. It is sinful to allow 40 days to<br />

pass without doing so.<br />

6. To wash <strong>the</strong> hair, oil it and comb it is Sunnah, but not daily.<br />
