ABOUT JSW GROUP AND JSW ENERGY<br />

HBPCL<br />
(KWHEPS and BASPA II)<br />
The Karcham Wangtoo Hydroelectric Plant is a 1,000 megawatts (1,600,000 hp) run-of-the-river hydroelectric power<br />
station on the Sutlej River in Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh, India. The dam and power station are located between<br />
the villages of Karcham and Wangtoo where the plant also gains its name.<br />
Baspa (Stage II) Hydro-Electric Power Station of 300 MW generating capacity is located in the higher reaches of<br />
Himalayas and is an environment friendly power station, devoid of any rehabilitation or resettlement.<br />

• A Cannabis Plants Uprooting Drive was organized on 16/05/2017.<br />
• The drive was organized in coordination with the JVM Sholtu and Police Department Tapri.<br />

SWACHH BHARAT ABHIYAAN DRIVE<br />
• A ‘Cannabis Plants Uprooting cum Swachh Bharat Drive’ was organized on 28/05/2017 in Punang Panchayat.<br />
• The drive was organized in coordination with Gram Panchayat, Mahila Mandal and Yuvak Mandal.<br />
• JVM Sholtu students also participated enthusiastically in this drive.<br />

VISIT OF ‘SHILP GURU’ TO HANDLOOM CENTRES<br />
• Four day Skill Development-cum-Training workshop was organized at Both Khaddi Centres.<br />
• A visit of Shilp Guru ( National Awardee) was conducted to make the products qualitative as well as quantitative.<br />

INTENSIVE WORKSHOPS FOR ANGANWADI SEVIKAS & HELPERS<br />
• A four Day Intensive Workshop for Anganwadi Sevikas and Helpers at Sholtu is in progress.<br />
• The training is being imparted by M/S Navnirmiti Eduquality Foundation<br />

AKANSHA LADIES CLUB<br />
INAUGRATION<br />
“Akansha” Ladies Club, Sholtu was allotted House No B-2 in the township, with<br />
the facility of reading and in-door games. This was inaugurated on 15.05.2017.<br />

A Picnic was organized on 21.05.2017 from Sholtu to Kalpa by “Akansha” Ladies.<br />

TREE PLANTATION DRIVE<br />
Class VII and IX participated in the tree plantation drive in Choling area of Karchham. The<br />
students were very excited digging pits and planting saplings. Let us Go green, as there is no<br />
other planet for living.<br />

LABOUR DAY CELEBRATION<br />
Labour day is a celebration of labourers and working class. J.V.M. Sholtu also honours the<br />
labour movements and the contribution the workers have made to strengthen the well being<br />
of the school. Students thanked the helping staff for their work and efforts.<br />

DRUG AWARENESS<br />
Chowki In-charge of Tapri had a talk with students about the use and ill- effects of drugs and alcohol. The negative<br />
consequences of alcohol affects not only individual but also their families. Students being the future builders and citizens of<br />
kinnaur were motivated and educated against the use of drugs and alcohol.<br />

INVESTITURE CEREMONY<br />
J.V.M. Sholtu held the formal ceremony of conferring responsibility to office bearers on 20 th May in the assembly ground with great<br />
enthusiasm. The school manager Shri Sanjeev Mahajan conferred badges and sashes to head boy and head girl , captains and vice<br />
captains of the four houses. The oath was administered to the newly elected council.<br />

INSPECTION BY J.S.W. FOUNDATION<br />
Ms. Sampada Pulsule visited J.V.M. Sholtu from 9 th to 12 th May. She did an exhaustive review of the school. She observed the<br />
infrastructure and the economic, social and technological aspects of J.V.M. in the remote area of Kinnaur. She interacted with<br />
the teachers and emphasized on providing a quality education that meets the demands of a constantly changing environment.<br />
