Depending upon your business, you will need a<br />

lot many of them, e.g., People, Place, Money,<br />

Contingency plans would be needed. Choose<br />

people selectively. Hire less but hire the right<br />

quality. Groom them or get them groomed<br />

appropriately. Outsource as much as you can<br />

afford.<br />

Enthuse and energise yourself<br />

All days are not going to be the same. Lull times,<br />

bad times and tough times will keep coming back<br />

to you at regular intervals. Keeping your self<br />

motivation high may become a tough challenge.<br />

Remember the old maxim, “This too shall pass”.<br />

Evaluate options and terms for investment<br />

This is a tricky area. Seek professional help. In<br />

need for funds, many entrepreneurs accept<br />

tough conditions and percentage. Be watchful<br />

and go cautious! Try to go to financial<br />

institutions, banks or avail government schemes<br />

before venturing out for private equity. You can<br />

attract angel investors better after your first<br />

proof-of-delivery.<br />

Understand customers’ needs<br />

Customers needs should be top most on your<br />

priority list. Understand the needs that he can<br />

articulate well including his pain points vis-à-vis<br />

his expectations from products or services. More<br />

important shall be the needs which you can<br />

deduce as the unarticulated needs of your<br />

customers – the ones he may have but is not in a<br />

position to express appropriately. Work on them.<br />

Develop/refine your products or services to take<br />

care of them. Some may not provide the right<br />

response or receive acceptability. That’s part of<br />

business. BUT the one/s that may click will give<br />

you phenomenal dividend. Work wisely. Deliver<br />
