Seventh-grade service
To close the end of their seventh-grade
experience, students from DuBray, North,
South and West middle schools collected
more than 3,000 items for local food
pantries. As part of annual seventh-grade
celebrations, the schools held a friendly
competition to collect canned goods for
the community. Students from the class of
2022 were able to support four local pantries
for the summer months with the donations
they raised.

The World’s Junior
Teen Miss Missouri
Tourism program has
a new titleholder:
Brenna Wagoner of
St. Charles County.
Wagoner won the
Wagoner
state final competition
in Maryville,
earning an opportunity
to compete for an international title
this summer.
A good spokesperson for the state, Wagoner
said she enjoys Missouri’s “wonderful
state parks and interesting caves you can
visit.” She enjoys camping, reading, crafts
and making homemade body care products.
She also is a member of the St. Peters
Figure Skating Association, school band
and Girl Scouts, and is active in community
service projects. Her favorite endeavor
is helping animals in need.

program that promotes community

states or countries.
Free children’s ‘Lunch at
the Library’ this summer
The Kathryn Linnemann Branch of the
St. Charles City-County Library will offer
free lunch to children under the age of 18
during summer break.
Lunch will be served Monday-Friday
from noon-1 p.m., June 8-Aug. 9. Registration
is not required. The library is located
at 2323 Elm St. in St. Charles.
The program is a partnership with the St.
Louis Area Foodbank.
Local students earn
musical theatre awards
The inaugural St. Louis High School
Musical Theatre Awards recently were
presented at the Fabulous Fox Theatre with
local performers among the winners.
Francis Howell Central won for Outstanding
Orchestra with its production of
“Once Upon A Mattress.” Anna Meyer of
Fort Zumwalt North received a Special
Recognition Award for her role as the fiddler
in “Fiddler on the Roof.”
The awards are a partnership between
the Fox Performing Arts Charitable Foundation,
The Muny and The Fabulous Fox
Theatre. In its inaugural year, the program
registered 26 schools to have productions
adjudicated. More than 250 high school
students performed on the Fox stage at the
May 28 ceremony, which was hosted by
Ken Page and directed by Tony Parisi.
Winners for Outstanding Actress and
Outstanding Actor will compete in the
National High School Musical Theatre
Awards, also known as the Jimmy Awards,
on June 26 in New York City.
