would be no power outages in the
country after November, 2017.
“More than 10,000 megawatt power
will be added to the national grid next
year and then Pakistan will be
outage-free country after November
2017,” he said.
The Minster said the import of LNG
would also help the country to
overcome energy shortage issue. He
said Pakistan would be the second
largest LNG importing country in next
three years with total import of 20
million tons.
He ruled out any wrongdoing in the
agreements of China-Pakistan
Economic Corridor (CPEC) project,
saying that all the rumours in this

2017 has attracted over 270 exhibitors
from 30 countries and regions around

“Government is trying to maintain the
petroleum prices, whenever they go
higher and it is the top priority that the
impact of soaring oil prices, should not
be passed on to the consumers,” he said,
adding that Pakistan is a country that
imports oil and gas and bear a big cost
on account of energy.
Abbasi said Pakistan is now the
second largest consumer of furnace
oil, as its usage is being discouraged
elsewhere in the world, due to the
environmental issues. He said that in
Pakistan, the emphasis on alternative
energy is being given and solar energy
sector is encouraged by declaring its
import zero-rated. He said every
country supports the solar energy and
our government is also encouraging
solar power.
The chairman, Pegasus Consultancy,
Aasim Siddiqui also spoke on the
occasion. He said that the efforts by the
exhibiting space of
more than 1700
sqm. , and earned
wide regard as the
largest enegry
exhibition in the

POGEE has become a highly
recognized annual energy event in the
industry. We appreciate all the support
from domestic and overseas
organizations.
Energy is the lifeline of an economy
and vital input to sustain industrial,
commercial and domestic activities.
Realziaing the imporatance of energy,
our power sector to overcome its
challenges. The government has also
introudced investors’ friendly
policies in the industry. The
development of indigenous energy
resourses, such as coal, hydro,
alternative and renewable soucres, is
critical for sustainable ecnomic
growth, as envisaged in the Vision of
present government for elimination of
the menace of load-shedding are
laudable. He said that many power
plants are coming up and it is hoped
that the nation would get rid of loadshedding
by early 2018. He said his
organization would continue its efforts
in promoting the energy sector and
bringing the latest machinery,
technology and expertise in the
country through POGEE.

Khanzada said that Pegasus has given
a new dimension and reform to the
event organizing industry and
Pegasus has revitalized opportunities
for manufacturers and their related
technology stakeholders, who have
benefitted from the trade and
investment channels operating in our
vast and diversified business
environment. He praised the
government’s efforts for working on
TAPI (Turkmenistan-Pakistan-
Afghanistan-India) gas pipeline that
is expected to be completed by 2019.
He also lauded the FDI (foreign direct
investment) to the tune of $1.2 billion
Pakistan 2025.
Pakistan is continuing its march from
being frontier econmy to becoming an
emerging market as it is eyeing 5.2 %
GDP growth rate in 2017. The growth
in econmy is evident and primarily
inculcates investment soarign in
enegry sector. Paksitan has
successfully attracted foreign
intersest in terms of $93 million (FDI)
in the Oil % Gas exploration sector in
current fiscal year.
The promising futur of Pakistan does
not limit itself just there and it takes
real pride to share with you that, this
year, the second highest foreign
investment in the country was made in
power sector expanding to $245.3
million during last fiscal year.
We believe POGEE will serve as a
great platform for you to understand
