A Profile of Askari Cement,
Nizampur plant
Askari Cement Limited (Nizampur)
i s a d o u b l e l i n e d c e m e n t
manufacturing plant located in
Nizampur, District Nowshera
(KPK). Conceived as a project of
Army Welfare Trust (AWT), it was
designed by M/s Tianjin Cement
Design & Research institute, China
and was supplied by M/s China
Building Material Industrial
Corporation (CBMC).Local
Machinery was manufactured by
Heavy Mechanical Complex
( H M C ) Ta x i l a , P a k i s t a n .
Construction of the Plant was
started in 1993. Its first line of 2,000
tons per day capacity was
completed and started production in
1996. Erection/installation of
second line of 2,000 tons per day
capacity was started in 1997 and its
production was started with effect
from 1st July 2003. Total Capacity
of the plant has been enhanced by
another 1,000 tons per day, by which
the capacity comes to 5,000 tons per
day w.e.f. February 2006. Another
BMR project is recently undertaken
in March 2017 to further enhance
efficiency and cement production
capacity of the plant.
The plant was purchased by Askari
Cement Limited from Army
Welfare Trust on 30th July 2013.
The Project has been acquired by
AskariCement Limited prior to
acquisition of the company by Fauji
Foundation (FF) Group from AWT
on 30th July 2013.Askari Cement
Limited (Nizampur) is an ISO 9000
Certified plant. Askari Cement
brand, being the best quality
cement, is preferred for construction
of mega projects like dams, bridges,
highways, commercial and
industrial complexes and residential
societies. Askari Cement has been
used in all the major projects in the
northern half such as Warsak Dam,
Tarbela Dam, Mangla Dam, Simly
Dam, FWO, NLC and Ghazi
Barotha Concrete Channel.
ACL (N) is flagship in use of low
cost local coal as fuel. It is only
c e m e n t p l a n t i n P a k i s t a n
consistently using 100% local coal
from last 03 years. Taking lead from
ACL (N), contemporary cement
plants in the region have also started
to use local coal, which is not only a
cost effective source of fuel but is
also saving precious foreign
exchange previously being spent on
import of coal. The plant is not only
depositing hundreds of million
rupees in national exchequer as
taxes and duties on cement but has
also triggered new avenues of
e m p l o y m e n t a n d r e v e n u e
generation in KPK in the form of
coal mining.
Besides providing employment to
hundreds of local families, ACL (N)
is also serving remote region of
Nizampur through its Corporate
Social Responsibility (CSR)
program by arranging free eye
camps, cricket tournaments,
donation of cement to mosques,
donation of fruit trees / plants, grant
of monthly scholarships to boys and
girls schools, installation of water
hand pump,contribution of fans and
furniture for government schools.
