His father's pride, his mother's joy,
A veritable Fauntleroy,
With cupid lips and silken curls,
Beloved of all the little girls;
But all alike he treats with scorn,
His heart doth not his sleeve adorn,
His mind's afar in Pippin's reign,
Or 'mongst the hosts of Charlemange.

Aye, even in his infancy
A charming cavalier was he,
And when the baby girls passed by
He had his nursie fix his tie;
And ere he learned to lisp his name,
Could murmur sweetly, "Je vous aime."
In him we find the reason true
Why girls leave home for S. M. U.
"MR. REEDY."
Upon his first birthday, to our little Frank
His preacher presented a little tin bank,
And ever thereafter, while other boys spent
Their pennies for candy, he hoarded each cent.
When asked why he saved, he was wont to reply,
"I'm getting the habit, for by-and-by-
You may not believe, but I know it is true-­
I'm going to be Bursar of S. M. U.
