EMERGENCY RESCUE PERSONNEL California No employee shall receive discipline for taking time off to perform emergency duty as a firefighter, reserve peace officer or emergency rescue personnel. “Emergency rescue personnel” means any officer, employee or member of a fire department or fire protection or firefighting agency; or of a sheriff’s department, police department or a private fire department, whether a volunteer or paid worker. If you are participating as a volunteer firefighter, reserve peace officer or emergency rescue personnel, please notify your supervisor so the Company may be aware of the fact that you may have to take time off for emergency duty.
