Teacher Testimony "There is no more deserving student for this recognition than Emmerson W. Emmerson embodies sportsmanship, raw talent, and the drive to be physically fit. She is a talented Track & Field star, looking up to our Ready, Set, Gold! Olympian, Donna Mayhew, as an example of what her hard work could one day achieve. While Emmerson excels in physical education, she sometimes has difficulty in other subjects. The intense drive she exhibits while performing in sports, has carried over into her other subjects as well. Although she doesn't always succeed, she refuses to give up. Ranchito Elementary Winner: Emmerson! During the month of March, the entire 5th grade took the 5th grade <strong>FitnessGram</strong> as part of our state testing. I had the privilege of watching Emmerson excel at this test. She runs as if she is floating on air, her stides effortless. While doing the curl ups she took a deep breath, closed her eyes, and got in "the zone", so to speak. She made every event look easier than the next!
