These are some of the common questions I get about state<br />

control. Let’s address them one by one:<br />

WHAT IF I’M IN A TOUGH SPOT?<br />

It happens to the best of us. You just find yourself stuck in<br />

a rut and nothing can get you out of it. It’s important to<br />

remember that what you resist, persists. If you continue<br />

to tell yourself, “I can’t get out of this funk,” then you’re<br />

essentially commanding your body to stay in the funk.<br />

What you want to do is change that thought loop in your<br />

mind to something positive. Instead of saying, “I can’t get<br />

out of this funk,” simply say, “I haven’t found the way out<br />

of this funk yet.” Don’t ignore the funk. Once you accept<br />

it, it will begin to dissipate.<br />

WHAT IF I’M TOO SERIOUS?<br />

Once you accept the funk you find yourself in, I want you<br />

to go to a mirror and look at yourself. Say out loud what’s<br />

on your mind. “I feel awful right now.” “I feel like shit<br />

right now.” “I will never be successful.” It doesn’t matter<br />

what it is, just say what you’re thinking out loud.<br />

Repeat it over and over while getting progressively louder.<br />
