Since my last update in the Autumn<br />
edition of Plumb Heat I have…<br />
….attended the Inaugural<br />
SNIPEF Technical event at<br />
Aberdeen FC’s Pittodrie<br />
Stadium where we had a good<br />
number of manufacturers and<br />
SNIPEF members in attendance.<br />
Initial feedback suggests this<br />
was a very worthwhile event<br />
and the next one that we hold<br />
will be even bigger and better.<br />
….continued to travel the<br />
length and breadth of the<br />
country and have held recent<br />
trade mornings in Fort William<br />
and Stranraer and these were<br />
both very well attended by<br />
member and non-member<br />
firms and I picked up some<br />
good leads as well.<br />
….brought in more new<br />
membership applications than<br />
at this time last year which has<br />
resulted in more new members<br />
than at this time last year. Not<br />
every firm that applies for<br />
membership is able to join<br />
SNIPEF though, and this is<br />
usually down to not meeting<br />
the criteria.<br />
….received a lot of positive<br />
feedback from both member<br />
and non-member firms<br />
regarding some of our new<br />
schemes including Clark<br />
Thomson Insurance Brokers<br />
who run the Public Liability<br />
scheme and Renault UK who<br />
offer our members fantastic<br />
deals on their range of vans.<br />
Demo vans can also be<br />
arranged for member firms.<br />
…..been dealing with more<br />
enquiries than normal<br />
from firms wishing to join<br />
the Approved Certifier of<br />
Construction Scheme. This<br />
scheme continues to grow<br />
and feedback from firms who<br />
are able to sign off above and<br />
below ground drainage subject<br />
to a building warrant is very<br />
positive. In particular the time<br />
they can save being certifiers is<br />
of high importance.<br />
…..had a great time at The<br />
SNIPEF Awards <strong>2016</strong>/17 which<br />
were held at the Caledonia<br />
Waldorf Astoria in Edinburgh.<br />
Congratulations to CHC Group,<br />
winners of SNIPEF Business of<br />
the year. Congratulations also<br />
go out to Jon Marshall from<br />
William Wilson Inverurie who<br />
won the merchant customer<br />
care award and to Alasdair<br />
Scott who won apprentice of<br />
the year. Well done to all the<br />
nominees.<br />
