Now isthetimetoeatplentyofveg,andyou’loftenndyou<br />
havequiteaselectiontochoosefrom!Peas,frenchbeans,<br />
runnerbeans,carots,beetroot,peas,mangetout,onions,potatoes,courgete,tomatoes,cucumbers,swisschard,spinach<br />
shouldalbereadynow.Pickyourvegregularlytoencourage<br />
theplantstoproduceevenmore.Thisisagreatmonthforenjoyinglovelyfreshvegetables.<br />
Waterpotsandcontainersdaily<br />
Keeppotswelwateredduringthismonth.Temperaturesare<br />
oftenquitehigh,andmanyplantsinpotswilneedwatering<br />
twiceaday.Ifyouaregoingawayonholiday,moveyourpotsto<br />
ashadyareaandaskaneighbortowaterthem 2or3timesa<br />

Keepweeding<br />
Weedingisaneverendingtask!Ifyoukeepontopofit,it<br />
doesn’thavetobeabigjob.Useahoetodisplacetheweed<br />
seedlingsastheypokethroughtheground.Don’talow any<br />
weedstoowerandseed(nomaterhow pretytheyare!).<br />

Pestwatch<br />
Bevigilantandkeepalookoutforpests.Stressedplants(from<br />
lackofwaterandproducinglotsofveg)aremorevulnerableto<br />
atackbypests.Ifyouseeany,dealwiththem straightaway<br />
beforetheycanbecomeestablished.<br />
Harvestgarlicandonions<br />
Garlic,onionsandshalotsarereadyforliftingwhentheleaves<br />
turnyelow andfaltotheground.Drythem inthesunbefore<br />
