Love Louth News
We Won!
Louth has been crowned Britain’s Favourite Market Town by readers of the BBC Countryfile
Magazine. “We have always known Louth is special but now it’s official!” the Mayor Coun
Mrs Jill Makinson-Sanders commented, “What an exciting way to round up this very
special summer. Winning this will really put Louth on the map and we hope it will mean
a lot more visitors coming to discover all the marvellous things we have to offer.”
Louth in Bloom
Continuing with the success of winning Britain’s
Favourite Market Town the Louth in Bloom group
are proud to announce that Louth achieved a
silver gilt award in this year’s East Midlands in
Bloom competition. The competition was marked
on horticultural achievement, environmental
responsibility and community involvement. The
judges commented that “many appropriate aspects
of the community were shown with justifiable pride
and enthusiasm. It will be surprising if Louth do not
become a very strong competitor in future years.”
announce that they have a stage available for
0 Degrees
2012 saw the first 0 Degrees Festival
take place throughout Louth. The festival
brought together the annual Music, Arts
and Food Festival into one big cultural
celebration. Next year’s festival is set to be bigger
and better than ever taking place between June
and July. Please contact Samantha Phillips if you
would like to get involved or have an event you
would like to be included in the Festival.
Then and Now
Town Clerk, Linda Blankley and
