Good afternoon to you all, welcome to The Paycare Ground for the first<br />
League match of the 20<strong>17</strong>/18 West Midlands (Regional) League season.<br />
This is the first opportunity I have had to officially say hello to the Club<br />
Members and Darlaston supporters, and to introduce my staff.<br />
As most of you know I<br />
am Darlaston born and<br />
bred, I still live in the<br />
area with my family as<br />
do all of the coaching<br />
team. I have a long<br />
association with the<br />
club, having played for<br />
Darlaston as a youth<br />
player, before leaving<br />
in 1997 returning<br />
three years later and<br />
played for a further five years for the club. Myself and my Assistant Andy<br />
Thomas (Tomo) have been together for the past four seasons at Red Star<br />
Alma and West Bromwich United where last season where we finished<br />
runners up in Division 2 and won the Division League Cup in our first<br />
season. There are three other members of my team, two of which are no<br />
strangers to Darlaston Town, ex player Stephen Coyne and Joel Waite,<br />
who we all know has had a difficult time recently finally, my friend Shaun<br />
Bolton, who in his youth also played at the club.<br />
When coming to a new club<br />
there are always lots of<br />
unanswered questions, but<br />
because we knew so much<br />
about the club, the transition<br />
has been very smooth, the<br />
Chairman and Club<br />
Committee have been<br />
outstanding since my team<br />
and I were appointed, they<br />
have been so supportive and nothing has been too much trouble. We are<br />
