TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF<br />
BUKIT BROGA<br />
The Selangor State Government through the Selangor<br />
Economic Action Council (MTES) which met on 17<br />
August <strong>2017</strong> decided to temporarily shut down all recreational<br />
and tourism activities at Bukit Broga starting<br />
today.<br />
This is due to mitigation or rehabilitation works that will<br />
be implemented at Broga Hill immediately by the Public<br />
Works Department as a result of deforestation and land<br />
clearing activities on 143 acres of Bukit Broga government<br />
land.<br />
”This step (closing) is necessary to ensure the safety<br />
of climbing and recreating activities by visitors at Bukit<br />
Broga, avoiding any untoward incidents that may occur<br />
as a result of the clearing of the land,” said Mrs.<br />
Elizabeth Wong Keat Ping, Chairman of the Tourism,<br />
Environment, Technology and Environment Committee<br />
Green and Consumer Affairs Department of Selangor<br />
when met at the Bukit Broga Temporary Closure press<br />
conference today.
