eLibrary.<br />
The <strong>library</strong> c<strong>at</strong>alogue (OPAC)<br />
allows you to search for books<br />
and DVDs th<strong>at</strong> you may need<br />
for <strong>your</strong> studies.<br />
You can also renew books you<br />
have already borrowed and<br />
place reserv<strong>at</strong>ions on items.<br />
The c<strong>at</strong>alogue can be<br />
accessed both in college and<br />
from home via Linkup <strong>at</strong><br />
www.linkup.g<strong>at</strong>eshead.ac.uk.<br />
A link can also be found on <strong>the</strong><br />
Learner Portal and on eLibrary<br />

Signing in to <strong>the</strong> c<strong>at</strong>alogue<br />
Simply click on <strong>the</strong> sign in<br />
link on <strong>the</strong> left hand side <strong>of</strong><br />
<strong>the</strong> screen, underne<strong>at</strong>h <strong>the</strong><br />
college logo. Your student<br />
number is <strong>your</strong> username and<br />
<strong>the</strong> password is <strong>your</strong> surname.<br />
We recommend changing<br />
<strong>your</strong> password once you have<br />
logged in by going to<br />
My Account and clicking on<br />
My Password.<br />
Managing <strong>your</strong> account<br />
Once signed in, you’ll notice<br />
a My Account section <strong>at</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
top <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> page. This is where<br />
you will be able to see <strong>the</strong><br />
items you currently have on<br />
loan, inform<strong>at</strong>ion about when<br />
<strong>the</strong>y are due back and how to<br />
renew <strong>the</strong>m.<br />
Reserv<strong>at</strong>ions<br />
If <strong>the</strong> item is available in <strong>the</strong><br />
<strong>library</strong>, you can reserve it for<br />
collection next time you are<br />
in college. However, if it is<br />
currently out on loan, we will<br />
contact you once it is returned<br />
to let you know it is ready to<br />
collect.<br />

The <strong>library</strong> subscribes to<br />
several specialist electronic<br />
resources, all <strong>of</strong> which can be<br />
found on eLibrary. This means<br />
you can get <strong>the</strong> inform<strong>at</strong>ion<br />
you want, when you need it,<br />
24 hours a day, 7 days a week.<br />
To access <strong>the</strong>se from home or<br />
anywhere outside <strong>of</strong> college,<br />
simply enter <strong>your</strong> college login<br />
details when prompted.<br />
Britannica Online delivers<br />
access to high quality<br />
inform<strong>at</strong>ion from a variety<br />
<strong>of</strong> sources, plus access to<br />
dictionaries and reference<br />
texts.<br />
Gale D<strong>at</strong>abases gives access<br />
to news and journal articles on<br />
a wide range <strong>of</strong> topics as well<br />
as encyclopaedias.<br />
Jisc Media Hub is an<br />
online video, image and<br />
audio resource covering<br />
engineering, educ<strong>at</strong>ion,<br />
business and many o<strong>the</strong>r<br />
subjects.<br />
MagOnline gives you access to<br />
a range <strong>of</strong> journals covering<br />
healthcare and educ<strong>at</strong>ion.<br />
Primal Pictures provides 3D<br />
images and interactive models<br />
for learning an<strong>at</strong>omy and<br />
physiology.<br />
