ΙΕΡΌΣ ΝΑΌΣ ΠΑΜΜΕΓΊΣΤΩΝ ΤΑΞΙΑΡΧΏΝ / HOLY TAXIARCHES CHURCH<br />

Ο Ιερός Ναός Παμμεγίστων Ταξιαρχών<br />

είναι αφιερωμένος στους Αρχαγγέλους<br />

Μιχαήλ και Γαβριήλ, τους Ταξιάρχες των<br />

επουρανίων Δυνάμεων των Αγγέλων.<br />

Βρίσκεται στο κέντρο της Καλαμάτας.<br />

Η κατασκευή του ναού ξεκίνησε το<br />

1938 και τα εγκαίνια έγιναν το 1956.<br />

Είναι ελληνοβυζαντινού ρυθμού. Οι<br />

τοιχογραφίες του ναού είναι βυζαντινού<br />

ρυθμού και έγιναν από το διάσημο<br />

αγιογράφο Δημήτριο Κεντάκα. Αυτός ο<br />

ευρύχωρος ναός φιλοξενεί το Διαγωνισμό<br />

Θρησκευτικής Μουσικής, κατόπιν αδείας<br />

του Σεβασμιωτάτου Μητροπολίτου<br />

Μεσσηνίας κ. Χρυσοστόμου.<br />

The Holy Taxiarches Church is dedicated<br />

to the Holy Archangels Michael and Gabriel.<br />

The church is located in <strong>Kalamata</strong> city<br />

center. Its construction begun in 1938 and<br />

it was inaugurated in 1956. Its architectural<br />

style is hellenobyzantine. Dimitrios Kentakas,<br />

a famous craftsman, painted its murals<br />

in byzantine style. This spacious church<br />

hosts the Sacred Choral Music Competition,<br />

with the permission of the Most Reverend<br />

Bishop of Messinia Chrysostomos.<br />
