MECKLENBURG COUNTY Financial Tax Collection Rate One main source to fund government programs and services is through property taxes. Property taxes are typically collected on an annual basis and at a given time of the year. Historically, Mecklenburg County has been exceptional in its collection of taxes through a robust methodology. In fact, in FY2016, Mecklenburg County collected 99.6% of Real Estate and Personal Property Taxes, which is an increase over FY2015 where 99.5% of the same taxes were collected.
