December 2 at 2pm, Temecula Valley Symphony<br />
presents Winter Joy featuring guest<br />
violinist YuEun Gemma Kim performing<br />
“Winter” from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons. The<br />
program offers a stocking full of holiday favorites<br />
including selections from Irving Berlin’s White<br />
Christmas, Stille Nacht by Mannheim Steamroller,<br />
Jingle Bells Forever (performed in the style of John<br />
Philip Sousa), Christmas at the Movies, Hanukkah<br />
Overture for Strings and Clarinet Solo, and more!<br />
Relive your childhood as you listen to the narrated<br />
tale ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas, set to music.<br />
The Symphony is conducted by Music<br />
Director John Mario, an internationally known<br />
conductor and opera coach. Per Alana Joos,<br />
Managing and Artistic Director, “Audiences<br />
love his humor and program notes delivered live<br />
from the podium, providing crafty anecdotes<br />
about each piece or composer. Patrons enjoy our<br />
diverse programming that includes everything<br />
from the traditional classics, to pops, and epic<br />
works from major motion pictures. Variety is key<br />
to our successful performances. I sum up our<br />
concerts as Symphonic Music with A New Twist!”<br />
BOLD & BRASSY…SWEET & SASSY<br />
February 10, at 2pm the Symphony will<br />
present Bold & Brassy…Sweet & Sassy opening<br />
with Copland’s Fanfare for the Common<br />
Man. Kate Prestia-Schaub, flutist, will perform<br />
Carmen Fantasy for Flute and Orchestra. Two<br />
Bagatelles features the brass and percussion<br />
section and the TVS Woodwind Quintet will<br />
perform Sextet for Piano & Woodwind Quintet by<br />
Poulenc. Classical fans will enjoy Divertimento<br />
No. 2 in D major, K.131 by Mozart, performed<br />
by a chamber orchestra and our outstanding<br />
horn section.<br />
CLASSICAL MYSTERY TOUR<br />
The world’s premier Beatles Tribute, Classical<br />
Mystery Tour, will highlight the season on March<br />
17, at 2pm. This concert presents nearly thirty<br />
Beatles tunes played by the band with a live<br />
orchestra! They’ve performed with many major<br />
symphonies and now Classical Mystery Tour is<br />
coming to Temecula.<br />
