Carnival At The Desert Empire Fair
“H
onoring Courage, Saluting Sacrifice”
is the theme of the 2017 Desert
Empire Fair in Ridgecrest. The Fair’s
goal is to provide one big Thank You to all those
who work to serve, save, and protect us. This
will be the best fun-filled flavor fest of a good
time ever... their emphasis on kids but plenty for
adults also.
MUSIC
Music headliners include: Doobie Rock music
of the Doobie Bros; Jett Benatar, the raucous
sounds of both Joan Jett and Pat Benatar; 60’s
Summer of Love Psychedelic Rock n Roll; and
local musical favorites.
ENTERTAINMENT
There is entertainment galore with strolling
acts “The Little Cowboys”, Firestryker the amazing
Dragon, and the beats of Street Drum Corps.
Shows are everywhere with the K-9 Kings
Dog show, the hilarious Wild About Monkeys
Show, Freddy Prez Crazy Contest Show where
someone will get a chance to win $10,000
tossing a frisbee, camel rides, a petting zoo, and
Cook’s Racing Pigs.
RODEO AND CARNIVAL
On Saturday night, enjoy Ridgecrest Rodeo
along with food, food, food everywhere you
turn. Also, Butler Amusements is back with
thrilling midway rides.

Fontana’s Let’s Move on the Trail Event
Health, fitness, safety, farmers’ market,
vendors, games, and more at this family event.
Join the City of Fontana and community
partners on Saturday, October 14, at the
Let’s Move on the Trail event on the Pacific
Electric Trail (P.E. Trail) between Cypress Avenue
and Steelworkers’ Auditorium. Explore
the event’s Health, Safety and Fitness Expo,
Farmers’ Market, health and wellness vendors,
games and activities and giveaways. The City of
Fontana’s Let’s Move on the Trail award-winning
event is designed to help promote a healthy and
safe community.
The City of Fontana’s Let’s Move on the Trail
event will kick off at 9am with the Bike and
Family Walk/Run events. The Bike event will
begin on the P.E. Trail at North Heritage Circle
and will conclude at the Steelworkers’ Auditorium
located at 8437 Sierra Avenue. The Family
Walk/Run event will begin on the P.E. Trail
at Cedar Avenue and will also conclude at the
Steelworkers’ Auditorium. To register for either

The event will have a variety of fun activities
and valuable resources geared toward
individual and family healthy lifestyles. The
day includes a Family Fitness Fun Zone and
vendors showcasing products, information,
samples and demonstrations on how to achieve
healthy lifestyles.
The City of Fontana’s Let’s Move on the Trail
event will take place in conjunction with the
John B. Roberts Fire Station #71 Open House
located at 16980 Arrow Boulevard and the Fontana
Police Department Expo located at Civic
Center Drive/Seville Avenue.
The John B. Roberts Fire Station #71
Open House will have station tours, live auto
extrication demos, a home fire safety simulator,
the Hazardous Materials Response Unit, the
USAR Team display and a fire safety information
booth.
The Fontana Police Department Expo
will showcase Police SWAT vehicles and live
demonstrations by the bicycle, motorcycle, K9
and SWAT teams.
Don’t leave the pets at home! The Healthy
Pet Expo located at Seville Park, 16669 Seville
Avenue, will be offering a low cost vaccine
clinic, a dog bite safety booth, critters for the
kids, pet food/safety vendors and a pet costume
contest. Bring your pets dressed in their best
costume for their chance to win the pet costume
contest.
