Saddle Up For Christmas at Lakeside
There’s not much call for pantomime horses this year. Everyone wants
a cow!
So from the cosy horsebox they call home, the McCuddy brothers take
the bit firmly between their teeth and play out scenes from the classic
tale of Black Beauty … as you’ve never seen it before.
From Saturday 9 until Sunday 31 December, saddle up, jump on
and gallop headlong into a story where loneliness gives way to hope,
friends become heroes, and courage saves the day. Expect fabulous
storytelling, puppetry and gentle comedy, laced with that memorable
theme tune.
Nottingham Lakeside Arts is well-known for its fantastic year-round
programme of Children’s Theatre and Dance – its Christmas show
is always a treat and the team behind Black Beauty are some of the
most experienced and skilled makers of theatre for young audiences
in the UK.
Winner of two Critics’ Awards for Theatre in Scotland including Best
Production for Children and Young People, Black Beauty is this
‘galloping, five-star triumph’ (The Guardian) for all the family (ages
6 and over) is sure to warm your heart during the coldest of winter
nights.

Mansfield Palace Youth Theatre offer classes from 5 years upwards,
with the Junior Youth Theatre (5-7 years) and Intermediate Youth
Theatre (8-12 years) classes every Saturday in term time. The
groups perform shows annually in May and June.
It is a great opportunity for your child to come and meet new friends,
build skills such as communication and confidence and have a lot fun
every week in a friendly and energised environment with drama and
some music as the focus.
The young students can then advance to Seniors and Chapter 4
in time, but getting off to that key start at a younger age can really
help the development of your child and enhance their lives with
experiences they will remember for life.

Paddington 2 (PG) Paddington undertakes a number of odd jobs to
afford a unique pop-up book from an antique book shop - a present for
Aunt Lucy on her 100th birthday. But when the book is stolen, it’s up to
Paddington and the Browns to find the thief. Release date: 10 November.
