CLUB HOST THE <strong>10</strong>TH ANNUAL<br />
TRI-OUR-VILLAGE YOUTH TRIATHLON<br />
On Sunday, September 24, 20<strong>17</strong>, over <strong>17</strong>0 athletes 5-13<br />
years of age completed the <strong>10</strong>th annual youth triathlon. Due<br />
to the cooler temperatures, the race began in the Greenwood<br />
Athletic and Tennis Club indoor pool, followed by a bicycle<br />
ride down Running Fox Park and ending in Westlands Park.<br />
The third leg of the race — the run — was completed<br />
around the pond south of the park.<br />
Each participant finished the race running up the hill into<br />
Westlands Park where Brent Neiser, Parks, Trails and<br />
Recreation Commission Chairperson, and Paula Neubert,<br />
President and General<br />
Manager of the<br />
Greenwood Athletic<br />
and Tennis Club,<br />
congratulated each athlete<br />
with a triathlon medal.<br />
Campus Middle School<br />
and High Plains<br />
Elementary won $250 for<br />
physical education<br />
equipment for having the<br />
highest participation at<br />
this year’s event.<br />
Greenwood Pediatrics<br />
donated $500 toward the<br />
triathlon. Groove Road<br />
Show provided music,<br />
Blue Sky Promotions, Greenwood Village business owner<br />
Barb Day donated t-shirts for the event. Bicycle Village<br />
kindly donated the bicycle racks for the day.<br />
The day was full of smiles and lots of cheering.<br />
Congratulations to all the athletes — job well done!!<br />
