There’s no other way to describe the Ferrari FXX K, except
using these words.
The science part comes courtesy of a massaged version of
the 6.3-liter V12 on the LaFerrari. The combination of this
tweaked mill and the HY-KERS hybrid system produces a
stratospheric 1,035hp. While no figures have been released as
to how fast this thing can go, expect the 0-100kph time to be
roughly 2.5sec (the LaFerrari’s corresponding figure is just
under 3sec). Oh, and did we mention that it beat its LaF sibling around the
Fiorano test track by a whopping 5sec, with a time of 1min 14sec?
Speed isn’t its only strong suit. The track-focused FXX K, which allows
ultra-rich clients to play on their favorite racetracks, has several new
settings on its Manettino. The available choices are Qualify, Long Run,
Manual Boost, and Fast Charge. These help you reach motoring nirvana,
using either typical petrol or earth-friendly electric juice.
As for the art part, well, just look at the car and you’ll know what we
mean. There are splitters and fins in all the right places. Apart from
contributing to the FXX K’s stunning looks, they provide massive
downforce—to the tune of 540kg at 214kph! If you drove this car upside
down through a tunnel, it probably wouldn’t fall off. Unfortunately, it’s
also one of those Ferraris that are super-exclusive.
