f you enjoy hunting, then a great adventure
is in store for you! Marinette County has
thousands of acres of public hunting land. The
area is home to white-tailed deer, black bear,
grouse, turkey, geese, bobcat, coyote, fox,
muskrat, raccoon, and pheasant.
Marinette County has one of the largest deer
populations in the state. Bow and rifle seasons
are offered in the fall. With two deer hunting
seasons in the county, you have ample time to
shoot your trophy buck.
Every farmer that seeks abatement and claims
for damage caused by Whitetail deer through
the WDACP must allow hunting for Whitetail
deer on their enrolled property. This same rule
applies to claims made for damages caused by
bears, wild turkeys, and geese.
Turkey hunting in both spring and fall is
becoming more popular. Walk along forest roads
and fire lanes to find the best locations for
grouse, or head to the southern part of the
county to find pheasant near the farm areas.
