Crivitz<br />
rederick J. Bartels founded Crivitz in 1883. He was a businessman who named the village<br />
after his hometown of Crivitz, Germany. Centralized in <strong>Marinette</strong> <strong>Co</strong>unty, Crivitz is 250<br />
square miles of all season vacation land and waters and offers something special to those<br />
who visit this area. We have whitewater rafting and kayaking on the upper stretch of the<br />
Peshtigo River, the best in the Midwest.<br />
The Village of Crivitz, with its own airport, has grown over the decades to accommodate<br />
those who love to live, shop and play in a small town setting. Today, Crivitz has become<br />
known as the recreational hub of <strong>Marinette</strong> <strong>Co</strong>unty. Lake Noquebay, in the eastern part<br />
of the Crivitz area off of Hwy GG, is a lakeshore community lined with beautiful homes<br />
and resorts. Lake Noquebay <strong>Co</strong>unty Park provides 2,400 acres of recreation with<br />
swimming, picnicking, boating and water ski shows.<br />
