WHY I WRITE NOVEMBER/DECEMBER 2017<br />

Writing is one of the hardest things in the world. You’re literally having to create<br />
worlds in your head, then throw them onto paper. It takes hours — sometimes<br />
years — of brainstorming, writing and editing before it’s perfect.<br />
So why do it? Why pursue such a difficult life?<br />
Because it is what makes us feel alive.<br />
Writing is freeing. It is something that we can do all for ourselves if we want to. We<br />
have the ability to delve into brand new worlds and stories, allowing ourselves to live a<br />
thousand different lives. As writers, we have the ability to share anything and<br />
everything on our hearts, to tell stories that need to be told. We get to wake up<br />
every day and do something that is important to us. We get to share our words, and<br />
that’s such an exciting, powerful thing. Books can change people’s mindsets, even<br />
their lives, and we are the ones who get to write those books. How cool is that?<br />
Writing is something that I am passionate about it. That’s why I write. Because<br />
even when it’s insanely difficult — when I’ve spent three hours trying to write a<br />
single page, when editing is about to make me pull my hair out — it’s worth it. It’s<br />
something that I truly love, and cannot imagine my life without.<br />
This is why I write.<br />
