Profile er excellency MARGARET BISI MESHIOYE needs little or no introduction in the diplomatic circle. As the Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of the Embassy of Nigeria, Rome –Italy, Mrs Meshioye took over the helm of the Embassy in April 2016, after the departure of her predecessor, who went on retirement from the Nigeria Civil Service. Mrs Meshioye has been in the Nigerian Foreign Service for over thirty years with a depth of experience in all facets of International Affairs. She graduated from the University of Lagos, Akoka – Lagos with Bachelor’s Degree in English Language and Master’s Degree in History and International Diplomacy respectively. She has served in various Nigerian Foreign Missions abroad, amongst them, in the United Kingdom and Portugal before her posting to Italy in 2014. With a proven record in International Affairs and administration, Mrs Meshioye is a living witness of women’s ability and intelligence if and when given an equal opportunity like men. She had since been the Minister in charge of political Affairs of the Embassy before assuming the position of Chargé d’Affaires in April 2016. Since taking over the mantle of authority at the embassy, Mrs Meshioye has diligently demonstrated that leadership quality involves tireless services. As a dedicated and patriotic diplomat, Mrs Meshioye, a seasoned diplomat, has inculcated the spirit of patriotism, dedication, diligence and a much-needed hard-working mentality amongst her staff. Mrs Meshioye’s exemplary sense of humour has been an important chariot, carrying her colleagues along peacefully and with a high sense of responsibility and dignity while discharging their duties.
