Property and Greens
First of all a big thank you to the members who came out on clean-up day. You all did an amazing job.
Our aim is to have a lovely environment for our members to enjoy when they come to the club for sport and
friendship.
Property
Thanks to JOHN ADAMS and ROSS MONK for installing our new shelves to hold our trophies.
MIKE JULIEN and JOHN ADAMS have offered to replace our very damaged eavestroughs on our garage to prevent
water seeping into the garage.
DON McCOWAN will gather a crew of members to paint our garage and west shed in the early spring. This hasn’t
been done for many years so will certainly improve the look of our property.
Our new roof should be completed sometime in the early spring so again an improvement to our overall environment.
We have been promised new benches for the spring to replace our very old ones. This is a big job as concrete pads
are required to be installed to anchor the benches for safety reasons. We could be in construction mode for spring
opening.
Greens
The maintenance of the greens is an ongoing challenge.
The more one learns about the greens the more one
realizes there is so much more to learn. Our investment
in the greens during this past spring ,of verticutting and
wetting agent application paid off to a certain extent so
more of the same will be done next spring.
We will purchase our own verticutter so that we can do
the advised multiple verticuttngs in April and May. FIVE
OF OUR MEMBERS have offered to sit in on the training
session that our supplier will give us on how to verticut
and maintain the verticutter.
With the chance that we may host a Provincial event in June we will need to work hard to get the greens in good
shape and then this work should pay off so that we will have great greens for the rest of the season.
I wish you all a healthy and safe winter.
