Overview
The core skills of a graphic designer are rooted
in language, narrative, typography and an
understanding of markets, people, stakeholders
and intentions.
If you are creative, visually aware and dedicated
to producing good design, this course will give
you the opportunity to specialise in branding,
typography, editorial design or illustration, fully
preparing you for a career in a graphic design
studio or illustration field.
You will gain a wide range of sector knowledge
tied to practical skills gained in research, selfstudy,
directed study and digital skills. You will
build a creative portfolio to develop prospective
exhibition opportunities, gain work with a range
of prospective employers, or as a basis for further
study.
This stimulating course also comprises of practical
workshops and demonstrations, lectures, guest
lecturers, competitions, national and international
visits and gallery visits.
It will culminate in an end of year exhibition
giving you the opportunity to showcase your
work in a professional setting to members of the
public and industry professionals.

Overview
This unique and distinct course explores the
dynamic between fine art and design practice.
It unites essential concepts and philosophies to
provide a freedom of visual enquiry and allows
you to reflect on the cultural and technological
changes of contemporary society and art practice.
It is a course with its heart and focus firmly placed
on each individual student. The curriculum actively
responds to your interests, strengths and aspirations
through the acquisition of traditional, innovative
and entrepreneurial skills.
Where possible, you will have your own dedicated
studio space to freely express ideas and concepts
and undertake on the spot critical reviews of ideas,
works and assessment.
The course also comprises of practical workshops
