Overview<br />

The core skills of a graphic designer are rooted<br />

in language, narrative, typography and an<br />

understanding of markets, people, stakeholders<br />

and intentions.<br />

If you are creative, visually aware and dedicated<br />

to producing good design, this course will give<br />

you the opportunity to specialise in branding,<br />

typography, editorial design or illustration, fully<br />

preparing you for a career in a graphic design<br />

studio or illustration field.<br />

You will gain a wide range of sector knowledge<br />

tied to practical skills gained in research, selfstudy,<br />

directed study and digital skills. You will<br />

build a creative portfolio to develop prospective<br />

exhibition opportunities, gain work with a range<br />

of prospective employers, or as a basis for further<br />

study.<br />

This stimulating course also comprises of practical<br />

workshops and demonstrations, lectures, guest<br />

lecturers, competitions, national and international<br />

visits and gallery visits.<br />

It will culminate in an end of year exhibition<br />

giving you the opportunity to showcase your<br />

work in a professional setting to members of the<br />

public and industry professionals.<br />

Overview<br />

This unique and distinct course explores the<br />

dynamic between fine art and design practice.<br />

It unites essential concepts and philosophies to<br />

provide a freedom of visual enquiry and allows<br />

you to reflect on the cultural and technological<br />

changes of contemporary society and art practice.<br />

It is a course with its heart and focus firmly placed<br />

on each individual student. The curriculum actively<br />

responds to your interests, strengths and aspirations<br />

through the acquisition of traditional, innovative<br />

and entrepreneurial skills.<br />

Where possible, you will have your own dedicated<br />

studio space to freely express ideas and concepts<br />

and undertake on the spot critical reviews of ideas,<br />

works and assessment.<br />
