BTEC Extended Diploma at MPP or 64 UCAS
points (see page 59) and GCSE English and
Maths grade C (4) or above. You may be asked
to perform an audition piece at your interview.

Overview
Theatre - it’s an art, a craft, an expression, a
journey of self-discovery and a profession.
This course focuses on practical skills
development and specialist skills. You will
develop your craft, and undertake a journey of
self-discovery to express yourself.
As well as providing you with the practice
to become a performing artist, this course is
dedicated to providing you with the necessary
tools, artistic and personal, to meet the demands
of all aspects of work in an ever evolving
performing arts landscape.
Units may include:
Dance
• Classical ballet background and technique
• Tap dance technique and performance
• Contemporary dance techniques
Drama
• Development of acting skills
• Acting for camera
• Devising performance
• Employability skills
Progress
to an
hnd
You will learn and experiment with performance
techniques and methods (for drama and dance)
and review methodologies used by practitioners.
Working closely with local creative industries, you
will concentrate and develop your practice in a
chosen specialist field.
Overall, this course will give a thorough insight
into professional work in the world of drama and
dance.
