Communication Arts
The Communication Arts major allows
students to design their program of study
and explore a wide array of subjects within
the communication discipline, including
communication theory, critical media
studies, interpersonal communication, media
production, and promotional and professional
communication. Students complete a core of
nine courses and then customize their studies
by choosing six additional classes that meet
their interests and career goals. Set in New
York City, arguably the media capital of
the world, the major offers professional
intern experiences. Faculty members
assist students in locating internships and
designing activities that allow students to
make the most of their internship. Guest
lectures, field trips, screenings, and other
special programs complement
the coursework.
“My Communication Arts professors
supported me and gave me the ability to focus
on my career from the get-go.”
