TROPICANA WINS BIG!<br />
Selangor-based <strong>Tropicana</strong> Corporation dom<strong>in</strong>ated at<br />
the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Malaysia)<br />
<strong>2017</strong> cl<strong>in</strong>ch<strong>in</strong>g a total of 8 golden trophies. <strong>Tropicana</strong><br />
Corporation won the year’s highest honour for Best<br />
Condo Developer (Malaysia). Its <strong>Tropicana</strong> Residences<br />
project also cl<strong>in</strong>ched the ‘Best of Malaysia’ award<br />
for Best Condo Development (Malaysia), while its<br />
<strong>in</strong>tegrated community project <strong>Tropicana</strong> Metropark<br />
bagged the Best Mixed Use Development award.<br />
Prem Kumar, chairman of the <strong>in</strong>dependent panel<br />
of experts and executive director of Jones Lang<br />
Wootton, praised the resilience of the domestic<br />
property market as it cont<strong>in</strong>ues to undergo a period<br />
of consolidation.“We wanted to make an impact to the<br />
<strong>in</strong>dustry and that’s why the panel of judges decided to<br />
expand this year’s awards categories to recognise other<br />
important segments such as affordable hous<strong>in</strong>g. We<br />
want to encourage developers to cater to different types<br />
of Malaysian consumers,” he said.<br />
A total of 21 awards were presented at the black-tie<br />
event that welcomed almost 300 guests.<br />
