Gingerbread Festival at Medway Public Library
Friends of the Medway Library
will hold its annual Gingerbread
Festival on Saturday,
December 16th in the library’s
Cole Room. Children of all ages
are invited to show off their creativity
by decorating their very
own mini gingerbread houses.
Admission is one bag of candy
to share.
There will be two sessions,
each limited to 65 children. Sign
up for the 10 a.m. or the 11:30
a.m. time slots online via the
Medway Library website. Space
is limited for this very popular
event, but a waiting list will be
available.
Last year, the Cole Room was
full of children having a wonderful
time creating colorful houses
using a wide range of candies,
ranging from licorice to snowcaps,
gumdrops to candy canes,
chocolate to peppermints. The
biggest challenge is to avoid eating
the decorations.
During December, be sure to
visit the special Friends of the
Medway Library Ongoing Sale
opposite the circulation desk.
There are “like-new” books and
games for adults and children,
including special holiday cookbooks,
craft books/kits, all perfect
for gifts. Items are added almost
every day. And be on the lookout
for the Winter Beach Reads Cart
beginning January.
Toys Collected at Three Millis Locations and
at Tree Lighting December 9th
Please consider donating to the
Millis Police and Fire Holiday Toy
Drive this year. 100% of all the toys
will go to children within our community.
There are three locations you can
make your donation, through December
19th -- M.P.D., Needham Bank
(Millis Branch) and Isabella’s Deli. In
addition, Millis Fire will be collecting
toys at the tree lighting.
We ask that the toys are new and
unwrapped.
Friends of Medway Library
is a non-profit volunteer organization
established in 1977. Our
mission is to provide funding
to enhance library services, to
increase the use of the library
through programs and public
awareness, and to advocate for
strong public library support. All
of our funds are raised through
our book sales, memberships and
donations. With tight municipal
budgets, your tax-deductible donation
to the library means more
than ever. For more information,
