December 2017 Medway & Millis Local Town Pages www.localtownpages.com Page 9 Millis Terpischore to Present 9th Production of The Nutcracker Shows December 1st, 2nd and 3rd Terpsichore, the Millis MS/ HS Dance Club presents its 9th Annual Production the holiday classic, The Nutcracker, Friday December 1 at 7 p.m., Saturday December 2, at 3 p.m. and Sunday December 3 at 2 p.m. at Millis HIgh School, 245 Plain St., Millis. This 90-minute, family-friendly version features overs 120 students from the Millis Public Schools over its three-day run. The score features both traditional Tchaikovsky variations as well as Duke Ellington variations from his Three Suites and has become a community tradition. The Millis Mohawk School Newspaper will be hosting a baking sale during the 15-minute intermission to fundraise for their newsprint, and other community groups will promoting their projects as well. Tickets are available at the door at a cost of $8 for adults, $6 for students and seniors, under 5 is free. In our tenth year, we are providing students with the opportunity to explore dance on a variety of levels. First, we provide free classes for students of all abilities and interest levels. These classes serve to expose students to a variety of dance styles and allow them the opportunity to develop their skills. Many of our participants have not taken formal dance, and we want to provide them a safe and fun environment to explore the dancing arts. Second, we work to find existing and/ or create our own performance opportunities in dance for our members. Finally, as we grow our organization we plan on adding dance theory, history, and choreography to our repertoire.
