Allen Jones, COO, National Aero Stands (NAS)
AviTrader MRO: Can you tell us a bit
about the aircraft engine transportation
stand business and how you came into
this business?
Jones: While working for an aircraft engine
lessor the need for an engine stand support
company was evident. The lack of a company
dedicated to the need spurred the idea
to establish an engine stand lessor which
treated engine stand leasing with the professionalism
and structure of an engine or
aircraft lessor.
AviTrader MRO: What kind of customers
do you engage for engine stands?
Jones: We support customers in all segments
of the aviation industry including but not limited
to aircraft and engine lessors, MRO facilities
and airlines.
AviTrader MRO: Do you manufacture the
stands and what is your current inventory
list?
Jones: We do not manufacture the stands.
We have over 200 engine stands that support
25 engine types: AE3007; CF34 family;
CF6 family; CFM56 family; GE90; JT9;
PW2000 & 4000 family; RB211-535; Trent
700; Trent 800, V2500 A1/5.
AviTrader MRO: What are some of the challenges
and solutions that you may encounter
with aircraft engine transportation?
Jones: Having the equipment strategically located
so it is most convenient for the customer.
AviTrader MRO: What’s next in the pipeline
at NAS?
Jones: Trent 800 Rollover stand and Bootstrap
kits, opening branch office in Rotterdam,
Netherlands and beyond!
Jones says NAS will open a new bramch in Rotterdam.
