20 NEWS HYPERTHERM WINS INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY COURT CASE IN CHINA Roosendaal, the Netherlands, 7 November 2017 – Hypertherm, a manufacturer of industrial cutting systems and software, is pleased to announce it has won an important Intellectual Property court case in China. A repeated Chinese counterfeiter was brought to court for manufacturing and selling counterfeit Hypertherm consumables. After thorough investigation, the court ruled in favour of Hypertherm and sentenced the main suspect to three years in prison. His accomplice was sentenced to serve one year. Both will have to pay fines as well of 25,000 USD and 7,500 USD respectively. “We are concerned about our customers and their businesses. That is why we pursue these legal actions. We are pleased to see that our efforts are recognised by the legal system”, says Jurgen Boelaars, EMEA Marketing Manager Hypertherm Europe B.V. “Hypertherm devotes an enormous amount of resources to the development and engineering of technologically advanced cutting systems and consumables. These counterfeit consumables do not have the advanced manufacturing characteristics of genuine Hypertherm consumables. They do not last as long or perform as well. Poor quality cuts may require costly rework, and valuable equipment could be irreparably damaged. So in the end, our customers are paying more for an inferior product. We want to protect them from that.” Examples of protected Hypertherm trademarks include Hypertherm, Powermax, HPR, FlushCut, HyAccess and ProNest. Hypertherm and their partners will continue their efforts to protect the market from counterfeit products and to eliminate counterfeit goods. COMPANY PROFILE 21 BH TUNGSTEN GRINDERS LTD BH Tungsten Grinders Ltd is a family run business, providing Tungsten Electrode Grinders, Stainless Steel Electrolytic Cleaners, Specialist Pipe Purging Equipment and Welding and Clamping Tables to an ever demanding market. We offer a friendly professional service to a wide range of customers and distributors in the specialist area of welding stainless steel, corrosion resistant metals and pipework. High quality welds associated with stainless steel and pipework, are becoming more and more important in all industries across the world, including Oil, Gas, Nuclear, Food and Pharmaceutical. It is our aim to supply this market, in conjunction with our distributors, with a view to becoming the preferred name for these specialist products. The Company was established in 1996 and is the sole UK importer of the Patented Ultima-Tig tungsten electrode grinder. The Ultima-Tig was then complemented by the introduction of the portable Neutrix tungsten grinder. Both offer fully enclosed grinding chambers ensuring no dust exposure to the operator without the need for additional extraction. Our activities in the TIG welding market brought sole UK rights to the Schnorrer gas purging equipment, the majority of which is patented. The Schnorrer range is amongst the widest in the world, with many special designs, and is extensively used for critical work in the aforementioned industries. The Bymat Stainless Steel Cleaners entered our product range in 2001 to complement our other products and their applications within the stainless steel market. The cleaners are easy to use and are highly effective in removing heat discoloration and other marks that diminish the appearance of finished fabrications, especially those that will be in the public eye. The New Bymat range uses high frequency cleaning in conjunction with the Weld Brush system and will also emboss logos and part numbers etc on to all conductive surfaces making it the most versatile machine on the market. We became the UK agent for Siegmund Welding Tables in 2005. These professional welding and clamping systems are ideal for clamping pipework, framework and other fabrications, where accuracy and repeatability is required. The quick release clamping system is fast and easy to use and is perfect for batch production work or proto-typing and bespoke products. The flexibility of the system and sheer volume of accessories available, make the variations for construction almost limitless. In order to expand the product range further, we introduced a range of Inflatable Purge Dams in 2010. This range includes Standard Twin Purge Dams, Fast Purge and Multi-Size Fast Purge. The latter covers a range of pipe bore diameters within a single system thus reducing the number of dams required. Specialist fabric coverings for chemical and heat resistance are also available. Our customer service led focus has allowed us to be successful in our target markets, meaning that as we have taken on more products, with more throughput, we sought and secured larger premises in 2014. Now three years later with further increases in sales, we require larger premises still. To that end we are currently in the process of purchasing purpose built premises, including warehousing, offices and workshop, which should be completed later next year.
