Yeshivah of Flatbush
When one doesn’t take risks, one loses
out on so many different aspects of life.
They become so afraid and paranoid that
they forget to live life. They miss out on
everything that life has to offer. Fear created
followers instead of leaders. We pass
through life without becoming our own
person. We nod when we’re supposed to,
laugh when others are and try to talk as
little as possible. We become someone
else and miss out on finding out who we
are. Instead, we must realize that it is okay
to be different. Everyone was created for
a reason and we all have something to offer
to the world. We must step out of our
comfort zone and find ourselves. We must
realize we are unique and amazing. Even
if we may get knocked down along the
way, we will end up victorious.
When you’re scared
but you still do it
anyway, that’s brave.
Barkai Yeshivah
I was in Great Adventure in the summer.
My friends all wanted to go on a Kingda
Ka, but I was scared. I was not scared
that I would die, but that I was afraid of
the heights. My friends tried to convince
me to go on a Kingda Ka, but I was trembling
with fear. My friends went on line
without me and tried to convince me to
come on with them. They were almost
at the top and I still didn’t go. When
they came down, they were all talking
and laughing. They were screaming how
good it was. I felt so left out because I
didn’t go on. On the next ride they went
on, I went, too, and had the time of my
life. I will never be afraid to go on any
ride again because, if the other people
can do it, I can do it too.
Yeshivah of Flatbush
A couple of years ago, a plane landed
in the Hudson River. The pilot and the
crew didn’t know what to do. Then, one
crew member thought they should try to
evacuate the plane before they were all
under the Hudson. The plane staff took a
giant leap of faith and risked their lives to
save the passengers. Taking risks can be a
huge accomplishment, even if you think
you may fail.
Barkai Yeshivah
It is extremely important to take chances.
You have one life to live and it’s extremely
important to live it to its fullest
potential. Sometimes, it might be scary.
But, if you don’t step out of your comfort
zone, you can regret it for the rest
of your life. For example, you can lose
a great job experience because you are
too nervous to show the boss what you
are made of. However, it might be too
dangerous to take certain chances. You
should definitely step out of your comfort
zone but don’t be too risky so that it
ends up badly.
Barkai Yeshivah
When you have an idea that you want to
share, you should share it or your chance
will pass. Your friends will move on to
something else. If you think your idea is
good, then share it even if you think your
friends won’t like it. A lot of successful
people have been told that their ideas
were weird or their friends didn’t like
it but, in the end, they were successful.
You are supposed to take risks and face
problems.
