2016-17 Annual Report

Reviewing the many exciting highlights from the past year in the preceding
pages, I am heartened to rediscover just how much we have accomplished.
Through our diverse productions and programs, Portland Stage offers
numerous points of entry, and we bring community together—to laugh, to
cry, to enjoy, but also to inspire conversation and to deepen
understanding. The Mainstage is and has been our core, and from that
strong center, we have begun to nurture future audiences and artists
through our Education Programs, as well as develop the classics of
tomorrow through our New Work Development Programs. As a supporter
of Portland Stage, you helped to shape the year that was, and you can help
us continue to grow and thrive in the years to come. Thank you for playing
your part in connecting Portland Stage more deeply with our community.
