2017 HGHBA Annual Report

While students were getting out of school in June the HGHBA was getting into the schools.
Yvonne and Troy Yates spoke with rising 9th graders about going into the plumbing business;
Martin Pettigrew spoke on his journey in to making his roofing business; Rob Clemons spoke
on the industry opportunities as a whole and Lesly Hill spoke on the benefits for women in
building careers. The Students were given small gifts each day to remind them of Careers in
Construction. Mike Wooten, CEO of DDC Engineers and SC DOT Commissioner Chair served
as our speaker at the June GMM. He gave us the good news on I 73 approval to move forward
and other infrastructure progress.
