SPARK TIME 

Fun, extended camp time for your child 

– at no extra charge! 7-9 am and 4-6 pm 

The Y’s SPARK TIME extended camp program provides 

before and after camp care full of activities designed 

to keep them safe, active and having fun! Included with 

your camp fee. 

SWIMMING 

Campers enjoy a recreational swim period each day 

(except some field trip days), weather permitting. Trained 

Y lifeguards conduct swim tests for all campers prior 

to swimming each Monday. Traditional day camp also 

includes one swim lesson a day for ages 3-10. The 

YMCA's focus is on keeping all our campers safe. 

LUNCH BUNCH 

Ages 3-6 and 7-12, Noon-1 pm 

Weekly, May 29-August 17 (no camp July 4) 

For campers who need an extra hour after morning camp 

or before afternoon camp begins. Children ages 3-6 

eat separately from older kids. Lunch is NOT provided. 

Free for children enrolled in BOTH half-day morning and 

afternoon camps and no registration required. Campers 

enrolled in only a morning or afternoon camp must be 

registered for each week.

This camp features two adventure-packed off-campus day trips 

and one off-campus service project each week. Camp days consists of 

swimming, sports and a choice of enrichment activities. Teens are 

challenged with team building and leadership opportunities to improve 

people's lives and enrich our community.

COUNSELOR-IN-TRAINING (CIT) • Ages 13-16 



This camp is a stepping stone to becoming a camp counselor. Experienced 

staff oversee teens leading group activities, actively involving themselves 

in special events, leading community outreach efforts and creating their 

own service learning project. Teens shadow different groups to develop 

management skills and acquire experince working with children of 

different ages. Applicants must schedule a brief interview. This program is 

highly selective! Successful completion may lead to a counselor position 

when the camper is of the proper age. Swimming included. 



JR. LIFEGUARD CAMP • Ages 12-16 


June 25-29, July 9-13, July 23-27 

Learn what it takes to be a lifeguard! This fun program includes water 

safety, rescue, and fitness, combining education, recreation, the technical 

skills of lifeguarding and the interpersonal skills to work with members.

and track down salty scalawags along your journey to the treasure. 

Superhero Training June 25-July 6 

Stand with your favorite superhero friends to bring peace and order to 

camp! But first, campers will need to train and learn the powers of these 

superheroes to thwart the super villains looking to take over camp, 

and the world! 

Time Traveling the World July 9-20 

Join our detectives as they travel through time and around the world to 

track down the infamous thief, Carmen San Diego! She is going back in time 

and stealing valuable items from countries around the world, and we must 

stop her! 

Power of the Force July 23-August 3 

Jump into hyperspace on an intergalactic journey! The search is on to find the 

missing droids who hold the secret plans to stop the evil Empire's attempt to take 

over the camp! Dodge your way through asteroids, bounty hunters, aliens, and 

troopers as we visit other worlds ruled by the Dark Side or the Light. 

Kingdom of Legends August 6-17 

Legendary fairy-tale characters collide with the modern world! They've been 

transported here to defend camp from the Evil Queen and her villains. Join our

Learn to perform like a pop star. Explore the basics of jazz, hip-hop and 

modern dance to bring performances to life. Create props, accessories and

This camp puts the "E" in STEM education. Kids can't resist using our 

collections of Legos, K'nex, Marble Works and other building materials 

to create masterpieces! In addition, we use household materials and 

items found in nature to challenge kids to focus on design elements, fun

Campers get their hands dirty and turn their thumbs green in the 

greenhouse, gardens and pastures of UMLY Farm. They discover the 

future of farming with our aeroponic tower gardens, practice pickling

ENVIRO & STEM 

Summer is the time to test bullfrog catching skills, search for salamanders 

on a woodland hike and walk through the creek with nets in hand! Campers 

participate in nature games, arts and crafts, stories and daily hikes 

through our Cassatt Perverse's woods, meadow, and wetlands. They also 

explore the Nature Center, Barnyard, and outdoor gardens.

June 25-29 

Younger explorers trek out on field trips in close vicinity to the Y with light 

hikes on well-worn paths, rain or shine. The week includes three day trips to 

some of our region's local parks, forests, and preserves such as Ridley Creek 

State Park, Okehocking Preserve, Exton Park, Valley Forge National Park, 

and Evansburg State Park. Mondays and Fridays are spent exploring UMLY's 

Cassatt Preserve.

Earth Service Corp is a national Y program for teens focusing on environmental 

service learning projects. In this camp teens are engaged with hands-on 

projects that develop team work skills, while learning to use various tools, 

care for animals, plan and execute a team project. The program also 

includes a day trip to conduct a service project at a local persevere.

Learn the basics from our veteran fishing instructors. Take home a brand 

new rod, reel and tackle box, and learn casting, pole lining, water reading, 

baiting, equipment maintenance and repair, and fish retrieval and release.

This camp builds a strong foundation for your child's early development of 

hand-eye coordination. Using USTA Red Ball programming, we offer a fun, 

relaxed environment, and frequent changes of activity. Children are introduced to:

• Hitting on forehand and backhand side 

• FUNdamentals (moving, split step, unit-turn, step and swing) 

• Underhand or overhand serve

RACQUET ROOKIES CAMP • Ages 7-10

This fun, high energy camp focuses on developing a love of tennis and making 

friends. Rookies work on concentration, problem-solving, self-confidence 

and good sportsmanship, developing basic skills of movement, agility, dynamic 

balance, complex coordination, linear speed, speed of coordination, strength, 

flexibility and footwork. Children are introduced to: 

• Handling a racquet, forehand and backhand (movement, stance, grip, shape of swing)

Fun activities help build strength, flexibility, self-confidence and respect 

for others in our little gymnasts. Coaches focus on tumbling, low beam, 

movement to music, learning and laughter. Children progress at their own pace.

MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION 

A Y membership is not required to register for camp. 

Membership is required at the time of registration to 

receive the lower weekly camp rate. No changes will be 

made if a membership has been started after the camp 

registration has been processed. 

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE 

The Y is a non-profit charitable organization that 

strengthens the foundations of our community. Thanks 

to donations to the Y’s Annual Campaign, we can offer 

financial assistance to those unable to pay the standard 

fees. Y memberships and programs are available to all. If 

you are interested in sending your child to camp, but are 

experiencing a financial situation that makes full payment 

difficult, you are invited to apply for our financial 

assistance program. Requests are confidential. 

DEPOSIT 

Camp deposits are due at the time of registration. 

Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable and are 

subtracted from your weekly rate. Member: $25 per child 

per week. Non-member: $50 per child per week. 

SIBLING DISCOUNTS 

Families with two or more children signing up for the 

same camp week receive 10% off the lowest weekly fee 

(restrictions apply). Discount can only be applied during 

onsite registration. Discount is not able to be combined 

with financial assistance and/or staff discounts. 

CAMP PAYMENT 

Payments must be made through weekly automated 

draft or in-full at time of registration. Camp payments 

are processed two Sundays prior to the camp start date. 

Camp payments are not able to be split between two or 

more payers. 

FEES FOR CANCELLATION, CHANGES, 

OR LATE REGISTRATION 

No refunds are available after the start of a camp week. 

Any camp cancellations less than one week prior to the 

camp start date will result in a $50 cancellation fee. Any 

camp registration submitted after the Wednesday before 

camp will result in an additional $50 late registration 

fee. Any camp registration change made after the initial 

registration will result in a $25 change fee. 

LATE PICK UP FEE 

The camp day ends at 6 pm. If you are going to be 

late picking up your child, please arrange to have an 

authorized pick-up person arrive by 6 pm or call the Y 

to inform staff. A late fee of $5 for pick-up one to five 

minutes past program end time, and $1 per minute 

thereafter will be charged.
