HOUSTON CY-FAIR LIONS CLUB
NEEDING VOLUNTEERS
Houston Cy-Fair Lions Club meets the 2 nd and 4 th Tuesdays of each
month, at 7 PM, at the Lions Den inside Bane Park, at West Little York
near Gessner. Our building is at the back of the parking lot, large tan brick
building by the baseball fields. Wonderful catered meal each meeting.
Our Lions Club does community service projects, such as providing eye
exams and eyeglasses for needy children in the Cy-Fair School District,
provide full Christmas food baskets at Christmas for families in need, send
handicapped and diabetic children to the Texas Lions Camp and other
services. Come visit us and help make your community a better place to

FABRIC DONATIONS NEEDED
The ladies of Concordia Lutheran Church make quilts for Lutheran World
Relief. These quilts are sent to areas within the US, as well as abroad,
which have suffered natural disasters or are simply in need. We are
seeking donations of fabrics that can be used in these quilts. Please call
Dorcus Coulter at 713-858-1294 with any questions or to schedule a time
for donations to be picked up. A receipt will be provided for tax purposes.

National Blood Donor Month
Blood donors are ordinary people - high school students, factory
and office workers, business executives, parents and grandparents
and people from every walk of life. But they share one thing - a
generous spirit, a desire to give back to their community and help
others. Blood donors play an integral role in the delivery of modern
healthcare. Many lifesaving medical treatments and procedures
involve blood transfusions and would not be possible without a
safe and reliable blood supply.
The Red Cross is also a leader in research and testing to protect the
safety of the blood supply. They were among the first to develop
and implement testing for many infectious diseases including, HIV,
hepatitis B and C viruses, West Nile virus and more recently the
agent of Chagas disease.

contribution that benefits accident victims, cancer patients,
surgical candidates, children with blood disorders and many
